I am not sure it's so much LED, but how they are not being utilized with all channels creating a robust full spectrum. I have noticed all blue spectrum led grown corals look drab when you crank full spectrum. Either way, I feel more hobbyist will eventually figure this out. I wish I had so many corals back from the day, lol...
Gotta find these gems, grow them out, share with a trusted local hobbyist that does the same, then try and make a few bucks. This takes time, and a process that should be enjoyed.
Agreed! There is 2 old skool tanks still in Vegas that I’m aware of that have been running for 20 years and filled with the old goods! I’m working on getting pieces here and there.. one’s got a Becker tort and everyone is like a what?!? Haha..

I’ve heard the purple monster pretty much diminished with the rise of leds and the majority of people lost them.. true or not idk.. if it’s true it might be the same with the lokanis… I wish I had all my corals from 15 years ago! I’ll never find half of them gems again..
I know arc had some lokani and other smooth skins u could aquire about. Also I had great business dealings w @therman and ofc had correspondence w av. Few others too.

@RussiReef was selling this last year. He has the OG not the Steve Tyree version
I had a couple years ago.. one was more lavender almost pink, I think was the og and the tyree was a deep purple.

Here's one of those little gems I don't speak of often, mainly because this one is really tough to keep happy. When them red polyps come out to play, usually the killer color follows suit.
Gotta take a pic when it's happy!!!

You are on the list Perry.
Such a slow grower. Hopefully can frag it before my retirement. LOL

As usual, your updates inspire jealousy, admiration, and motivation on my end all at the same time. Loving the project!!

Hey Nate,
Man, just happy that my corals transferred well. The tank is going nutso, I suspect that the basics as a foundation, sort of reset the biome, which in turn, kick started a growth spurt. Enjoying the ride, as it can be short lived. I find less actually means more, so things are as basic as the old days of food, skimmer, lights, flow, water change.
