I get all my online ordered goods delivered at my LFS. All live stock comes home after my wife and parents are sleeping.

My wife likes my tank and have all fancy names for the fishes but doesnt like me spending much on the tank. So everything i get is either gift from friend or every few months a reefer friend is closing tank so i get new stuff for free

That's really weak that she makes you feel so bad that you have to hide your reef tank purchases. I just buy what I need when we are able to swing it. If she starts in on me, I just have to point out the ledger in the checkbook to show her who is spending the vast majority of the disposable portion of our income.

My wife told me I probably have more invested in my (box of water) than in my own personal vehicle. Sometimes I think she is right. Also every time we get in the car as a family to go somewhere my kids always say "are we going to the fish store". I would say I have a pretty bad addiction .LOL

Funny, I've always called my husband and I surf and turf. I love the water and he loves golf. I got scuba certified 6 years ago and finally got him to get certified last year while we were in St. Lucia. He loved it! Six months ago I noticed a saltwater store and we stopped in. Very interested in starting up but hesitant at first hearing how much work it is, he bought me everything in support of MY new hobby for my birthday. Got a 65gal. Now I actually have to keep him in check with the spending and already wants to increase to a 125gal.
Maybe you men should start to name your corals/fish after the shoes your wives buy as the addictions seem to be similiar..lol!

Haha my wife has sent me videos and photos of new fish. I've even had her acclimate new additions if you can believe it!

She's not too supportive otherwise

I have my home security camera pointed at my tank so I can look at it from the app on my phone at anytime threw out the day. Also I come up with reasons to justify most of my new purchases to my husband, I can come up with some pretty good excuses most of the time haha I also do not bring receipts home ever, and tend to pay cash when I can [emoji6]

But do your spouses spend a ton on all sorts of little stuff that adds up? In my case I get a little crabby if I catch flack for buying stuff for the reef because even my reef purchases are far and few between. As far as other spending goes, I dont buy much of anything really. I don't go out, drink, smoke, gamble, do drugs or anything. So I tend to get pretty mad if my wife gets upset about a reef purchase. It even takes me a few years to complete a build because I buy stuff so slowly. Ok, I'm done ranting now. LOL

See that's were I get screwed... I literally have to force my wife to go shopping.., she spends nothing unless it's for the kids... I have to give her credit though because she had been amazing with this build compared to previous builds... I even caught her last night in the tanks room with the kids just sitting back and watching.

My wife also spends nothing except on our kids. She never treats herself ever. She had horrible back pains and blisters from wearing the same cheap tennis shoes for 2 years till I finally made her buy a new pair. She's very very frugal

I thought I should let everyone know that I was strong this weekend.... Went to a fellow reefers house and the last thing out of my wife's mouth was don't spend any money.... I came home with 8 new beauties and she just smiled
