My first Cyano outbreak on week 4

With full whites the red in rocks is bryopsis I believe

Don't see any coral so that little guy is prob not a flat worm. Did you figure out what it was?

A penn plex cascade 1200 and a 1000 same brand. I spent all morning inspecting the coral I do have I moved them off the rock when Cyano got bad so it would not get on them as much. They are just frags, I have had them for about 5months. I just put them back on rocks they were under the heater on sand bottom right of tank

I know it's frustrating to see your tank in there condition it is now. Especially since you know what it looked like prior. It will get back to its Glory. Just stick with it.

I was so disgusted with how my tank looked I couldn't bear to take pic of it in that condition when I was battling dino.

The corals look great but I have taken a lot of time to brush them to keep the stuff off. It really makes them mad but after a couple hours they bounce back. To be honest I am just pleased it isn’t worse it is frustrating but it’s just part of the hobby. I could think of worse things that could happen. I will post pics of the corals in a bit. The only thing I really worry about is the clam I have. It’s color has went from a light pink to a almost maroon. I hope it hasn’t taken in too much Cyano. Luckily when I placed it footed to a half shell so it can be picked up and brushed as well. Though I have no desire to touch it

I'm not sure about clams though I know they love nitrate. @DSC reef he has some. Having nitrates and phosphates in the tank will help coral.

I know they seem beginner but I like them, I got 3 corals in exchange for my giant long tentacle anemone. I tested the water the nitrate is only a little elivated and phosphate is just under .25 guess I need to add my phyto than I have been

The clam looks ok in the picture, keep an eye on the upper margin of the shell for new growth. Having some nitrate and phosphate is fine for a clam but excess amounts are not desirable. The cyano shouldn't change the color of the clam. The mantle changing colors is typical of photo adaptation.

Two candy canes gsp and a toadstool leather zoas and blue shrooms. Those are great corals.

It does have new growth I’d say 1/4 inch ish I’m new to clams but I’m assuming the new growth is the thin almost translucent part

I think the galaxia is my favorite, it’s sweepers are insane on nights I feed the phyto .I need to drill a new hole for it somewhere far from the others. I hope this Cyano and Dino continues to recede I feel I learned my lesson well enough on nitrate and phos lol

Awesome! I was very sceptical about getting it, I didn’t want to get something that wouldn’t thrive. Thank you for sharing what to look for. Do you know about how often it should expel and refill? I have only witnessed this a few times.
