That's a good idea! I will have to ask.. thanks for your helpCan you take it back to the shop in exchange for something?
Do you have snails?I feed my elegance 2 or 3 large frozen mysis or krill twice a week. Pulls them right in.
Did you ask? Most stores that sell corals are probably gonna assume if you’re there buying a specific coral you know what you’re into unless you ask questions. That's crazy the same lfs sold me the snails an the elegance why wouldn't that be something you tell somebody!
Thanks, your right I should have asked.Did you ask? Most stores that sell corals are probably gonna assume if you’re there buying a specific coral you know what you’re into unless you ask questions.
It’s always good to ask what they eat if they can... if they’re aggressive to other fish or corals. Can they sting or do they have any toxins.
I don’t think snails should be meant to be expendable some of them have pretty long lifespans. But they’re cheap and stuff in reef tanks WILL eat them. In fact a lot of things will eat other things in reef tanks. A few months I had a clownfish eat a shrimp. It’s not something that often gets talked about unless it’s something expensive being eaten or attacked but these things do happen pretty common. Just part of trying to have a confined saltwater ecosystem. All we can do is try to make things as happy as possible and if we don’t want the aggressiveness find out which is doing it and remove it.
I’d say though elegance corals > snails. I’d much rather a 10 year old elegance than a 10 year old snail.
A small one won't do that much damage but a large on might. They are slow growers all thing considered maybe 2 inches a yearI unfortunately don't have a sump
