I know! He does great at keeping phosphate. Eventually though he'll probably move into some skeletal corals that eat phosphate and have different issues.

I see. I can’t give phosphates away and at the same time I can’t buy nitrates in my system.

Yep, opposite! You've got softie dominant tank which LOVE nitrates. I've got very few softies and skeletal corals like both.

Indeedy I do. Once I get things settled down I’ll be adding much more stony coral. I still want SPS but it’ll be at least a few more months.

It’s only been a little time and the tank is resettling well. The new corals look like they’re getting comfortable.

And since it’s in my account info here’s the Pea Puffer tank after a pretty much complete overhaul. New plants sand , about ½ water change , new filter media to keep everyone happy. Oh and finally used the last piece of driftwood I had hanging around. I’m seriously thinking about getting that hood off and putting a screened top with a decent light added.

Not sure yet. I’m looking for something that will grow the easy plants in there but won’t be promoting algae like the BioCube s stock whites do.
Plant list is as follows -
Anubias, Crypts a couple types, Sags, and Java Fern

Ok I made these 2 purchases. One is a Kraken replacement cover. I bought the optional evap cover, partly cause the little buggers are so small and a Hygger LED. Fluval had a really solid one, but I wasn’t gonna pay $130 for it.

Looks good years and years ago with the discus it was a planted tank and was growing well. Then I tried this in the tank and it

was like a jungle every thing wanted to grow It’s a can of co2 and you press it till the gauge is full in the tank and it slowly releases it. This omi I had never seen growth in plants like this every thing bright green and if you cut a leaf you could see the tiny oxygen bubbles in the leaf . Any way I can feel some discus love coming from across the pond to me at some point today. Happy Days lol

Discus came looking good. Acclimating as I send this off. Cardinals came in healthy but smaller than I expected. They’ve been in for about 24 hrs now.ASD delivery still out there. Supposedly coming today by noon. It’s getting close to the witching hour. We’ll see.

I had an interloper on my new live rock. What I’m assuming was a large majano anemone popped out after about 24 hrs. Death by lemon juice after pulling the rock.

I use a CO2 generator. You mix baking soda and citric acid together. On almost a 60g tank I refill it about every 6 weeks.

There's also CO2 paintball tank setups too.

Although it may cost more I’d get a CO2 cylinder and a solenoid. Much less cost in the long run and a cylinder only needs to be retested every 5 years. Refills are cheap.

No... It'll be the DIY CO2 kit. The cylinders are ready filled clean CO2.

Sorry to chime in we in the uk could get a plant called onion bulb but after some time you could not get them . You stuck them in the gravel at the back of your tank and they grew like reeds really good growers. Does any one have more info on them . They were really good for discus tanks
