My Mushroom Garden Table Saga 2.0 build thread

Totally bummed man just spent a solid day building a hang on ats for sump#2.
99% complete and I got to drill lamp and its aluminum! No where in the description did it say aluminum lol. Only mentioned plastic about 100 times. I even scratched it, bent it and acted like plastic but it is coated lol.
Scrapped it and ordered the tunze 8831 red refugium light but doesn't come until April 9 out of UK lol can't find them anywhere in states.
Live and learn I guess.

Yeah it does but is what it is though ill have an extra light for down the road. Plan on doing a refugium only res sooner or later.
On the flip side at least it'll be plug and play when it arrive.

I see, so aluminum is still assumed negatively corrosive when submerged in saltwater? Does it make much difference if it is anodized or not? I am asking because I was considering anodized aluminum one of the best possibilities for a frame for a custom aquarium if I ever build in the future (not planning to do so any time soon, and I know a frame would not be submerged). Is aluminum a problem because of material degradation, water contamination from the corrosion, or both?

Hi Soren great questions here that I'd like to know answers to as well.
I believe folks are coating aluminum stands with something is about as much as I know.
Getting ready to build one here soon and was going to price an aluminum stand as well.

aluminum will oxidize ,under saltwater,coated light reflectors ,coated stands no prob,
aluminum in tank water can cause polyp bailout in lps ..that's about all i can say on..

Alright man. @fishguy242 I honestly don't know how you keep up on things. Yup I can see why you only get 4hrs of sleep most nights lol.
Since I had to put the ats on back burner until lamp comes. I rigged table #1return up with better natural flow Its absolutely amazing how fast the shrooms laid down and thanked me for it
This table is probably being turned over at least 6-8 x an hour.

From here on out proper dispersment of return and nutrients is a must. Kinda working for itself at this point.
Removed another pump too
Quiet before the storm haha.

I have a variation but they don't stay green throughout the whole shroom...just the skirt.

I think some call them king kong yumas.

We will definitely have to trade once it starts leaving babies.
