Love this fish , can't wait for it to change to blue , been in the tank for 2 weeks with no QT , had been in my Lfs for over 2 months and iv looked at him once a week , was put in a tank with copper when he arrived at the shop so I'm confident he bug free
Didn't get on with my yellow tang at first but now they seem to be ok

How is your tang doing? I just got one. One web site says max size is 9” and another day’s 15”.

I don’t know what is what now. I hope he’s not to big for my 120g

They definitely can get to 15" in the wild but probably not nearly that big in captivity. Mine was a jerk even as a 3" yellow juvie. I may have just been unlucky but I seem to have heard others have problems with aggression from them.

Well he turned into a jerk :(
After the aggression from my yellow tang died down and he got settled in he started to Chase and bully my Regal tang to the point of stressing him out
The regal got ick and it spread to half my fish including the Caribbean tang

I ended up loseing 8 fish including the Caribbean tang
Funny thing is the regal survived

Good luck with yours , beautiful fish but a bully

Thanks for the info. I have had him in the tank for a week and just added a yellow tang. He is being a bully to the yellow tang. I hope that will go away soon.

On live auaria it says that the tangs max size is 9". Is this a different tang or is the website incorrect? I have a 120g and a 15" tang would be to much...

I called live aquarai.com and they said they have sizes around 5" -9" and some at 15" it all depends and each one can be different.... So I dont know what there max size meaning is on the website.

Tangs are hard to mix especially in smaller tanks where their territory is the full tank..

Even if they get along for a while it can change on a dime.
