My new Caribbean blue tang

nope I got him small and he grew to about 2.5-3in basically transitioning phase but then I put a purple in(one of my dream tangs) and he just didn't like the atlantic tang and he ended up dying unfortunately.

Just keep them well fed you should be good to go. Seems that my 3in purple tang is worse than my 6in clown tang lol. Im pretty sure the clown is supposed to be awful in terms of temperment.

Yellow tang has ich now.. has to be from stress! Came from a guy that had it for 2 years

are you going to go fallow or are you gunna manage it.

Someone said it might be bubbles. It looks like ich. He did not have it when I bought it hen boom. Probably stress induced. I told myself I would only buy from divers den but the guy had it for years no problem so I figured it would be safer. I even did a rapid quarantined dip with a 2 part solution. I hope it just goes away

I've seen zebrasoma's flash ich so many times, like you said a little stress from going into a new tank. I've seen yellow, purple, scopas do it so often; then the next day it's gone and you never see it again. Let's hope.

Thanks for the reassurance:) I appreciate it

You do need to keep an eye on it, if you need help there is a disease forum here with very knowledgeable people. I use a disclaimer by saying I am in no way an expert in ich management.

Thanks I’m going to get kick ich ans rally .

I've researched this fish for a couple months trying to understand the sizing of it and its temperament. General consensus came back with a tendency to be aggressive and exceed 10" in size. I have a 210 gallon tank that is 54" wide but 30" tall and Deep. So plenty of space even with 150 LBS of rock. Another thing that led to my decision is that I have a pretty immature tank with regards to it only being cycled in March with my previous tank, 40 breeder, being moved into it in April. There is coral and the rocks are maturing but it is still more open. Figured it would be safe to pass even though I'm only considering a single tang. I ended up with a Lt. Tang instead. While it can also be on the larger side down the road if I do end up adding a Kole Tang they are not in the same family or look alike so I would stand a better chance. If not a kole then a white tail or tommy both which adding one would be ok. At least based on what I've read.

Sad too because the Atlantic / Caribbean tang is pretty and not seen in home aquarium although it is pretty common and affordable.

Here’s an update- my yellow tang and blue c tang are getting along..

The yellow tangs white spots are gone but one weird one at the top of the head. Looks like it’s ment to be there. I found one white spot that was stuck to the fish on a string maybe the protective slime and the sand got stuck? Weird how it was all there and now gone unless it was ich flash but I don’t know if that’s a true name for it.
