Well..It's been 4 days since I added this girl to my tank...The nem was alread attached to a decent 8x8 flat rock upon purchase..I acclimated her for 2 hrs and 15 min drip style.. Her mouth gaped some guring acclimation but shut within 3 hrs of being added to the tank..She has since not budged from the initial location at the peak of my tank..Her tentacles have remained rigid and full..She has already eaten to krill Sat night..only thing I have yet to see her do is close up into that iconic nem ball..

I need pics!!! :)

I read that foot damage is a big concern with health..felt good about this one..they collected it by sawing the rock at the base of the nem off..

Do all magnificent nems ball up in the eveing?....mine stays open all the time..could it be because my tank runs a moon cycle so it is never completely dark..just wondering if this is ansign of health..

beautiful nem! I'm not sure about the balling...if it appears healthy, I wouldn't be too concerned about the lack of balling up....at this early point, I'd say it's still probably acclimating.

It could be the fact that it's acclimating to your tank currently but no it is not really normal for them to ball up at night, from my experience that means it is unhappy. Watch for inflation/deflation cycle or a very loose mouth(slightly open is ok as it may be that way for a month until it fully acclimates to your tank).

Got a question..my nem has been doing great for almost 2 weeks now..added 2 clowns to my tank sat..thought they might go to rbtas in the bottom left corner of the tank..but they picked the magnificent nem..since I have had alot of inflation and deflation of the tentacles..never all at once..and relegated mostly to one side of the nem..the mouth is not gaping..and the foot is still very secure..is this normal?
