Dude... hahahaha... the copper is coming out from my hose... it goes to 3 different locations in the room... 1) to the wash basin 2) to the left side of the room where I will be hooking up an rodi unit AFTER the hose bib... 3) to the right where my mixing station will have another rodi unit AFTER the hose bib... Its all taken care of brother... thanks

No worries man, just double checking. Wanted clarification that the copper was before the rodi’s. The fact you have 2 rodi units threw me off- don’t see a rodi dedicated to ATO very often, or ever. And I’ve never seen anyone use copper over pex or cpvc when putting in a new line.

I saw the copper too and was worried so I went and researched. General opinion is that not enough leaches into the water to be a concern so I didn’t say anything. Good info to know if it’s ever an issue in the future.

Room is looking great, I’m not OCD but still hate painting. I would pay somebody when I do but I’m also a tight butt and can’t do that lol.

Anyway... so I busted out all the lights lastnight and Im running them for a good hour this morning to break them back in and make sure the fans are working... ati and aquatic life have all brand new t5/mh bulbs... the razor has upgraded 120 degree lenses and is the 160w 16k model... Gonna hopefully get these badboys hung up today, which also means I will be finally orienting the frag tanks the way I want to have everything fit in the room...

No, lights arent gonna be positioned like that... They will be hung from ceiling length wise obviously

I think y’all have misunderstood my point. It’s only an issue if the copper is after the RODI, which it’s not, so it’s all good.

The whole point of the RODI is to capture the harmful crap, such as copper ions, so it’s doing its job. It’s no surprise you haven’t had an issue since your rodi units are working correctly.

But if you’d used a copper connection somewhere after your rodi units, it would be an issue. Enough copper can leach out of a brass fitting to kill inverts like shrimp and anemones. One guy in our club couldn’t keep inverts for a year because the cheap ballcock he bought from Home Depot to use on his saltwater out (to fill a bucket for qt water changes) had a brass ball in it despite the valve looking like it was made entirely of plastic. Enough would leach out that he was copper poisoning his invert qt

For sure man, wasn’t saying anything bad there. It was me not knowing because my house is all plastic lines. Your 100 right, there are more house with copper than without and they do just fine. I researched for myself more than anything man.

Hung the lights up today and finally set rhe tanks and everything where their final position will be... I will have enoigh room on the right side to put my reefer xl 425 and xl 525 over there next to the was basin and Im gonna put the quarantine tank in the closet... Its a little ***** this way, but I can do everything I want with the room... pretty excited... next is plumbin

Gonna have to cut some slots in the top of the acrylic sump for the returns from the rubbermaid tub... thats the highes I could put the overflow in the tub... any ideas cutting the slots? Dremel? Hole saw?

I'd probably go with a hole saw just to get a nicer looking cutout matched to the pipe size.
OR I'd not cut it at all - but put the Rubbermaid up a little higher on blocks or something.
