Well the display tank is not really getting worse...but it has not gotten past the diatoms!! I'm working on locating baffles or glass to cut into baffles. The local window shop wants $60 for 4 pieces and that is way too much IMO for some windows.
Then I have to organize help to dump the sump and take all the goodies up to the fish room. I'm looking at roughly 200lbs of water and rock and a distance of about 70 feet. Not looking forward to that
Now I will say a traditional Algae Turf Scrubber will be more efficient than this has proven. Luckily I am skilled enough to maintain the tank throughout this experiment and have only lost time. It did remove the in-tank cyano bloom so that's a plus. This is definitely the laziest method as I have done nothing but watch it. Lol
Of course it could just e the salt that feed the diatoms. I still have 20 more gallons than I though so I have another water change left before I try the other stuff.
