I put nori in the tank and it gets ignored. Anybody else have that happen?? It's like they don't even care!

My tangs eat the heck out of LRS Reef Frenzy and TDO pellets by @Reef Nutrition.

My foxface wouldn’t eat nori at first either. I would put fresh nori on the clip everyday until it started to eat it. I think they just have to get used to it being in the tank

I’ve also heard of people dipping the nori in garlic

I soaked my nori in garlic to get my tangs to start eating it. Now I can just place it on a clip and they devour it.

Try this
I have yellow tangs, a hippo tang and a powder blue and they all go crazy for nori now.

You do know there’s different kinds of nori. Like green and red.
Yep. This is the green kind. It came from the LFS.

I guess I'm wondering if it's even something to worry about. My tangs are fat and healthy...wondering if they even really need it...

My yellow tang would not eat it and he died. My fox face will eat it if I tear it up and put it in front of the wavemaker and it blows it out into the water and he goes after it.

All my tangs don't seem interested in nori as well. I've tried multiple types and brands but none of them worked, my triggers on the other hand loved it lol

Never had luck with garlic but I did with Selcon. Once I soaked it in that they went nuts for some reason.

I use Seaweed Extreme pellets in my morning feeding. My tang and cleaner shrimp goes crazy for it.

My Quoyi Parrot supposedly loves the stuff, etc. It WILL NOT touch it in my tank. Occasionally pecks at rocks, but supposedly they constantly graze rocks...... Mysis shrimp are devoured by it though, so I feel like I am way overfeeding my tank to make sure it is getting the high-food demand they say they need

Nori alone I believe is pretty tasteless..... like in sushi rolls for us humans, lol.

For fish to take interest you have to soak it in some kind of flavor enhancer. Once they ID it as food, then you're off to the races

Nori I would assume tastes a whole lot better than hair algae. And my tangs and pygmy angels eat hair algae.

+1 on garlic

My Tomini will nibble at the clip only every now and then, but it’s a rare occurrence. I have tried green nori, red nori, and purple nori. None of them have noticeably stimulated it. I was hoping it would just rip into the stuff. Ha

Geeez, an 8' X 8" sheet in my tank lasts approx. 90 seconds!

This is the only nori my fish eat. My foxface, dwarf angel, and tomini tang start eating it while I am sliding it down the glass! In my little tank, the blenny loves it too. I've tried to change it up with purple or red and they won't touch it.

They eat a huge packet like this every 5 months.
