My tangs don't eat nori.

Mine Tangs took a cpl days before they started, now everything but the gobies & YH Jawfish destroy it even my Blue throat Trigger.

My tang and wrasse only eat the nori right next to the clip like jerks and it breaks off and I got to fish it out

I put nori in the tank and it gets ignored. Anybody else have that happen?? It's like they don't even care!

My tangs eat the heck out of LRS Reef Frenzy and TDO pellets by @Reef Nutrition.
Back in the UK, when I had my last tank, I bought all kinds of expensive recommenced green stuff. I had Yellow Tang, A Purple Tang and an Achilles Tang, none of them touched it. The only thing they would eat was boiled cabbage!

-500 for garlic. Cmon people.... I thought we were past that ;Hurting

I believe the scent fights off ich and other known parasites. I've had every known fish that are considered ich magnets. In 25 years I've never had an ich outbreak because I have always soaked my fishes food in garlic.

Hi

I used to never feed nori. For 9 years my tang was pale yellow and hlle. I first shredded up the nori and mixed it in with normal food. Once they start liking it increase the size of the pieces. I use Selcon and Zoecon also. They are now eating full sheets along with clams and blackworms.

They are now deep yellow and clear heads. They also fattened up, no more sunken tummy.

+100 for selcon and a varied diet. Fish get sick just like people. So why not help build their immune to get them thru it.

now that you mention it I have noticed my regal angels have better coloring now. I started giving them some nori every morning. Took them awhile to eat it also. I use the Innovative Marine Gourmet Grazer. I just think it is less messy and it works for me.

What's the nori that you speak of? And will my goby like it?

Ocean nutrition nori has garlic. That’s what mine like. They won’t touch the red stuff, but my snails sure love it...

I think sometimes they don't realize it's food because the presentation is so different than their natural diet. With frozen foods the other fish "teach" them to eat it. I agree with the selcon to attract them and get them to start.

If all else fails send your tangs to me and I'll get my wrasses to teach them to eat it! :D

You could try chopping some up into flake sized peices and throwing it in (let it get wet and soggy first, sink in the cup) And try the Ocean Nutricion Red algae. I found dipping food in garlic puts the fish off the food

Usually it takes them to see another fish eat it first before they will eat it.

When I got my Hippo tang it was the size of a nickel. It's now about 6" and it would never eat nori off a clip - still won't. I started tearing it up into little pieces and just drop it in like flake food and that was the trick.

My FoxFace and Hippo Tang love the nori. But I added a Purple Tang about a month ago and he still wont eat it. Eats Seaweed Extreme, LRS Reef Frenzy and Misis Shrimp, but not the nori.
