my hippo n& powder blue tangs ,have ick. they've been healthy for 3 years. I have some corals in tank, How do I cure them ???

You are most likely going to have to pull all of your fish out of your tank and put them into another tank and treat them with copper. You must keep the fish in the other tank for 72 days before you return them to your display tank.

if you want to cure them, they are gonna have to come out of the DT and youre gonna need to leave it fallow for 72-76 days.

Any other fish in the tank? Do you have a QT? if not QT, Id suggest setting one up asap.

there are numerous methods for curing ick, copper treatment, hyposalinity, TTM, etc. which one are you most comfortable with and most capable of performing? whatever your choose, will affect the equipment you need for QT and treatment. All have their pros/cons, just decide which work for you and make it happen.

Hi there! as has already been mentioned, you'll want to QT your fish. If you want to be ich free in the display you'll want to go fallow (without fish) in the DT for 76 days. You have several treatment options to choose from with ich. Here is a great link for options and how to perform them. http://reef2reef.com/threads/how-to-treat-ich.191226/ I'd like to see a picture of the tangs in question if you have a good clear one.

What about a copper Dip using CUPRAMINE. before I had corals, I put it in tank it was Magic, full cure

yup, as i mentioned copper is an option. you wont be able to do it in the DT, due to corals/inverts, but it could be used in the QT/Hospital tank.

like melpyr said, pics of fish?

doing a dip with cupramine wont accomplish much since copper doesn't effect the trophont stage of ich. It's when the trophonts drop off the fish and become protomonts that the copper will kill them. Same with the Theront stage of the life cycle. They are most vulnerable in their swimming stages. A fresh water dip my help a small amount but they are usually dug in pretty well, so it may not help as much as you might want it to.

Are they too numerous to count? Are there any behavioral symptoms to go along with it? Swimming into the flow of a powerhead maybe? Being reclusive and hiding under rocks and out of the light?

Hi. Fish are fine & eating, But Dots all over. if i do nothng will they Die? raised temp to 82F

Hi fish r fine, & eating. I added Garlic to food & raised Temp to 82F, if I do nothing is it guaranteed they Die, not doing QT

Raising the temp isn't going to help much. It will speed up the life cycle, but then they are just reproducing at an alarming rate. It depends on their immune system and health. It also depends on what they actually have. If they have velvet, then it is extremely important to treat right away. If it's ich then you might have some time to see if they can fight it off on their own. If they are covered in dots though, I'm doubting they will be able to fight it off. They could very well start dying if left untreated... it will happen much faster if it's velvet.

Anyway i can treat them in the tank?

If you have inverts then no.. otherwise you could try hypo, though that's difficult to execute properly. TTM, Copper and CP all need to be done in a QT. Ideally you would leave your tank fallow (as previously mentioned) for 76 days to be sure the ich has died out in the DT before returning your newly cured fish to it.
