Rock and roll my friend;)

Leak test a success??

Leak test results: PASSED!

Although, I decided to install crown moulding in my kitchen yesterday so today I'll be building the stand frame. I visited Aquatic Marine yesterday for plumbing parts, so I now have 100% of needed materials.

One big decision I have to make is, do I attempt to remove the factory overflow box and drill the tank to use the Synergy Ghost Overflow box I have? I don't know if the tank's back glass is tempered or not.

I'd love to have the Ghost to compliment my sump from Synergy.

Woohoo!!

Not sure if there’s a way to know if it’s tempered or not without knowing the manufacturer. I thought I remember reading somewhere that you can look at the glass at a certain angle or with polarized glasses and you can tell from the color of the glass if it is tempered or not. Being able to put the Ghost on would be so nice!

Not sure about the reliability of this but the blue bands that he talks about is what I’ve read in numerous other sources.

I don't have a laptop, I wounder if that will work with a cell phone screen?

Sweet, I'll run by wallyworld to get some cheap tempered glass checkers lol

LOL! A good test subject for the checkers would be to try them on your car front windshield since they’re tempered. That way you can see what you’re looking for.

A blue screen on a phone works too. I always double check used tanks using this method before shelling out any cash.

Just put your phone on the inside of the panel in question set to a blue screen(google images), look through the sunglasses and turn them to see one of 2 results.

Edit- it’s worth mentioning that if you use a tempered glass screen protector then your results will show as such.

1. The screen appears “striped” or “banded”. This means the panel is indeed tempered.

2. The screen blends into the panel, or darkens to “disappear”. This means your working with a drillable surface.

Ps- I enjoy watching this project move forward man! Renovation is slick!
