update
for anyone who's watching lol
i know its been a long time but i thought i would update my thread. In the Past few months ive had some ups and downs with the tank still no chiller as of yet but for anyone with a biocube hqi if you take the glass off and add a fan it really helps stabilize the temperature and keep it below 80 degrees mine remains at a steady 76-77 all day and at night 76 with all the evap an ato was a necessity and best investment i couldve made!

current inhabitants include
2 percula clownfish
1 hippo tang (dont worry i have a 300 gallon in the works and feeding him a mix of nori along with mysid soaked in garlic and new life spectrum pellets to keep his immune system up before the big upgrade)
1 yellow coris wrasse

assorted blue leg hermits
nassarius snails
2 mexican turbos
4 astrea turbos
3 bristle star fish
2 skunk cleaner shrimp
1 fire shrimp
1 peppermint shrimp

corals
1 hammer coral 3 heads
1 frogspawn hammer hybrid (not doing so hot) 6 heads
xenia for days
2 rock anemones
1 feather duster
1 mushroom
1 duncan started with three heads now growing 8
a few montipora
clove polyps
some palys and assorted zoas

i do 2 five gallon water changes a week and run a reverse timing fuge light to help with ph levels
the biocube uv sterilizer which has helped a lot
and the chemipure gfo

any suggestions or advice to add to this setup would be great!
thanks for looking:D

Nice looking tank. My 29 gal Corallife BioCube has been up and running since April of this year and even though I kept on hearing "go slow" I became addicted to these zoas and now have a total of 135 (just added another 12 frags this week) not counting the other softies and couple of sps, lol. This hobby is addicting and lots of fun.
Thanks for sharing and keeping us updated.

Hi Eliramos...

Wondering how you light the chaeto in the filter fuge. Do you have any photos of that part of your setup?

I'm looking to upgrade to one of these tanks from a 10 gallon.

Thanks!

For the biocube there is a fuge light that you can buy seperately if you notice on the back of the tank is a window ill upload pics when I get home but there is a lighting system that fits perfectly for it and allows you to run a fuge

Just did a 5 gallon water change only to realize I used ro water!!!!
Crap!!!
Went from 1.025 to 1.019 shoot!!!
Did another quick change from the salt I had leftover from another jug brough it back up to 1.021
Any advice!?!?!

Very nice looking tank. It's amazing what it's become from the first pic to the most recent pic.

Oh, and I'm no stranger on forgetting to mix the salt. When you're bringing up the salinity, what I did is utilize incremental water changes with water that had a higher-than-usual specific gravity reading. Don't try to raise it all in one change or it'll really screw up your livestock.

I haven't used this, but I found a webpage that just might help you with your problem.

Sooo I was cleaning my holding tank for extra live rock and look what I found!
He mustve been in there for months!!!! And he lived through a lot I mean no water, heat, like no filtration for a week its just holding live rock after all!
Nature id pretty amazing!
