My Wide Rimless build!

how do you get rid of the brown stuff on the sand?
thanks

The brown diatoms on the sand will come as quick as they came with good aquarium husbandry and good RO/di water. They are common after new tank start up due to an abundance of phosphates silicates nutrients that are in sand and rock work.i help it out by sifting the sand with my hand a bit. But after a week mine are starting to go away

Thanks for the info. The program on the computer

How big are going?
Mine is a 150g rimless display, 62"x28"x24", center overflow, built by Coast to Coast Custom Aquariums. Although my LED fixtures will be different, I suspect it will look a lot like yours once it's running. (I hope anyway ) Would love to see pics of your running sump and filtration systems, macros, etc..

I ran my gfo and carbon reactor off my return pump

Both my jabao controllers

I'm running a sock filter and skimmer in the first baffle and my undone fuge. Adding macro in the next couple days and more rock. The two pieces of rock in there is Florida rock with plenty of brittle stars feather dusters etc and my return and reactor in the last baffle. Nothing to complex. I need to organize though.

Marty the eel has been really happy. Very docile and calm. Him and red fire shrimp are best friends. He lets the shrimp pick out of his mouth all the time and he's always on Marty's head chillin

I'll be getting the same tank and going to have a very similar set up and will probably be using the same sump / skimmer you have. Is there anything you'd do different if you had to do it all over again?

With the tank itself no. The tank to me is perfect sized. Not to big but big enough to house a wide array of fish and the 24 inches wide on a 4 foot tank is just enough depth. The skimmer fuge return pump 2 jabao wp25 I think are perfect for this sized tank. I thought if have issues with the fine sand but I don't at all. I would have better set up my rock work and not use the crappy epoxy glue. Worthless in my opinion. And I would have cleaned my dead rock better. I lost the patience I was trying to bring to this tank.

Very nice!!
