MyGHL App breaks with every update - Anyone else?

I have tried a static IP vs a DHCP assigned IP. I've tried having the static IP way out of range from other devices. I have tried moving my WAP. the Profilux gets a 5 green bar -45 - -59 dB SNR which is about as good as it gets.

A continuous ping results in low MS responses, no time outs and no large MS delays....



There are somewhere near 30 devices connected to my 2 AP Meraki network, and i don't have any issues with any of the devices, except the Profilux. This did get better with the last ESP update, as far as the disconnects went, they stopped, up until the GHL update in AUG, then the connection died until the new ESP firmware was loaded - no other changes and everything's fine.

I second this. (I actually suggested the same on OP's FaceBook post.)

Hi, the profilux wifi connection seems rock solid all the time. the issue only occurs after an update (That GHL usually announces via Email, and web) when the MyGHL connection dies. not the Wifi signal or connection mind you, just MyGHL. i can still ping, access web server and receive email alerts form the profilux.

I asked this question over on the support forums and it got removed. I genuinely had no idea they were so unresponsive, hence the question in the first place.

Apparently if you just remove comments about insanely slow orders, no one will ever know its a problem lol (I've since learned is is a VERY common problem)

All my orders from GHL took weeks to ship (Never mind deliver) and two orders so far were first shipped to the wrong address.

When i ask questions on the FB group, i'm deleted. I even get deleted when Icompliment GHL LOL.

My helpdesk tickets and GHL forum questions are deleted, or I get told it's not possible" only to have other reef community members walk me through, apparently, doing the impossible.


I love the controller, I love what it does for me, I love that it takes my mind of the worry of the tank, however, it's issues like this that really make me sad the ReefKeeper maker DA was bought and killed...

Well it sounds like you’re well versed in networking so I have to say I’m honestly not sure what else I can think of. I’m a tad behind on my firmware updates so I’ll run them and keep a close eye, and update this thread if I come across anything.

No, I wasn’t commenting on their warranty or customer service. I meant that they don’t filter their Facebook groups. People can complain all they want, as far as I’ve seen. Lots of (justified IMO) AFS bashing lol.

I have not had an issue with my phone app monitoring everything. Sadly I lost access to myghl at work, but that is a policy change at work that I have been too lazy to submit a change for.
