Name a product that actually works please!

Drawbacks like?
Drawbacks are the same as any 2 part: salinity increase and ion imbalance if not corrected with water changes or balling method.

Sodium hydroxide is caustic, and gets really hot while it’s dissolving. It’s not compatible in any standard plastic container/dosing tube. You need to make sure the material used is compatible.

Polyethylene (HDPE and LDPE) are perfect materials for sodium hydroxide. Vinegar is commonly sold in HDPE jugs.

Bulk Reef Supply 1.1mL/min dosing pumps are made with santoprene, which is safe with sodium hydroxide.

microbacter clean and dr tims have always worked

If you mean the drawbacks of limewater (kalkwasser), the primary one is potency limitation based on evaporation rates. it makes limewater alone not enough in many tanks.

With how few coral I have, fully saturated limewater isn't enough, I don't see how any tank actually can get by on 100% alone, they must have to super saturate it.

My system did, but I may have had more evaporation than you. :)

Dr Tims cycling product was completely worthless when I used it, but YMMV

I had to use the Fritz Turbostart to actually get nitrates going.

Hi All Just thinking about all the £££ and dollars we have all wasted on products of dubious value. So, can you name a product, one per person only please, that works for you. Then we could all go out and buy them all LOL.

Yesterday I added Reef Enhance to my frozen food. The tank looks somehow better today. Maybe Reef Enhance will be my own choice. Thanks all.
Tropic Marin elimi np. Only carbon dose is use
