Yes, there are quite a few SPS. (3) types of Acropora, (5) types of Montipora and (2) types of Pavona. The 250g/hr powerhead with the attached Hydor rotating unit produces enough random current to keep everything healthy, but if this were an SPS only tank I'd consider adding a more powerful pump and/or an MP10 (or similar).

Regrets? Interesting question, but absolutely not. A well set up and mature tank (that is maintained properly) doesn't require activated carbon, phosphate removers or any of these 'polishing' products (as you call them) that marketing would have the aquarist purchase. Kind of shocking, isn't it
Kalkwasser (Calcium hydroxide or Calcium oxide) is used to maintain proper calcium and alkalinity levels when water changes are insufficient to do so. This typically occurs when a fair number of stony corals are present.

Yeah regrets wasn't the best choice of words there. Couldn't agree more with you about the products, I suppose they're in my tank put of habit from when I first began in the hobby.

It is my opinion and experience that running a tank without all the products makes one a better reefer. I also feel it ultimately makes for a more stable environment.

Over 5 years, actually
I vacuum the sand bed weekly with my water change. Since the tank is glass it is much more scratch resistant than acrylic. Weekly glass cleaning with an old plastic credit card keeps coralline algae from getting a foothold which helps to cut down on scratches (coralline is abrasive).
