Has anyone been to the franklin aquarium pet shop?
How is it in comparison to the aquatic critter store? Cause to be honest. I don't ever want to step foot back in that store.

if you feel like the drive to Jackson, Below Sea Level is a great shop!
i dont know anything about franklin pet shop, but if you end up going let me know cause im always into checking out new stores!

I felt that the critter was WAY over priced and the staff was giving bad advise to customers just to make a buck. Which I hate to see.
I'll def. have to check out the one in Jackson. Thanks for that !!

The Critter does a lot to help support MTRC in every way they can.

Didn't say they were not helping the club. Just said my experience was CRAP and that I won't go there ever again if I can help it!

I did like speaking to jr at emerald bay yesterday. And he seems more knowledgeable than most of the staff at the critter.

I just had a bad experience and was asked why.

There in no longer a store in Franklin.

Don't go to the critter if you dont want to. But please respect the fact that you are new to the area and dont know what it is like here. They have always supported the reef club here and go out of their way to help us with our local swap. Going as far as providing the space for free the last couple of years and providing hundreds of gallons of saltwater for any vendors that need it.

Do I think its a perfect store? No. Do I think some of their stuff is way over priced? Yes. But do they support us local reefers? Absolutely

My point is, you seem to be rather opinionated which is great, because I am as well, but I would suggest that you get a better feel of your surroundings and how things are arond here before voicing it all over the place. It's just a wise thing to do.

No hard feelings just wanted to put that out there.

I'm not upset in any way shape or form. Just stating a fact that AC has done a lot to help the club and it's members.

I am sorry that you had a less than pleasant experience at the Critter. While some of their staff is more knowledgeable than others, overall I have enjoyed doing business with them for probably over 15 years. Chris Beggin has given me corals gratis on more than one occasion and has always dealt with me fairly. Some prices are high, some are reasonable, but supporting the local economy is worth a premium. I don't exclusively deal with them, but I keep them in the mix when I am blow money on my box'o live rocks. I would encourage you to keep an open mind and not judge the place too hastily. The Critter has its own personality (a blend of many together) and like most personalities, there is good with bad, just take it with a grain of salt. Overall, I can't help but like the place, but each to his own.

Thank you for letting me know that their is longer a store in franklin. I guess I was just spoiled when I lived in Phoenix and had a lot of different choices. I am happy to hear that they support the group and it's members.
I am the type of person that gives opinions biased on first impressions. I had a bad experience and seen a lot of things going on there that I do not agree with.
I'm sorry again if my words come across as bad ones but I say it as I see it. If anyone gets to know me and my wife they will understand the way we are. Voicing my opinion is wha I do.
Isn't that what these forums are all about? To get the words from others.

I am the type of person that also loves this hobby as love helping any way I can and would love to be apart of this community!

Just spoke to Dave over at below sea bottom. He sounds like a real awesome guy. And can get me everything I need at rock bottom prices. Also we were talking about his colonies of corals he sells at also rock bottom prices.

I will for sure be visiting him at below sea level !!
