Anyone know why my naso would be laying on the sand bed?

I moved him to the coral QT tank for now so other fish don’t bother him.

please take a look at pics let me know what you think. He is looking like he won’t make it.

all other fish look good in the tank but I did loose a cleaner shrimp about a week ago also

Hi, I can't really see anything definitive in the photo. Can you take a look at the top sticky message in this section, it gives some suggestions for supplying additional background information to help us try to figure out the problem.

That said, when fish becomes moribund like this, as your are likely aware, there is often nothing that can be done for it in time. It then becomes a concern to identify the issue so that if it is something contagious, the other fish can be helped.

Unfortunately, it's usually near the end when they're laying on their side. How long have you had him for? Any new additions to the tank?

I’ve had this fish for about 2 months. When I received him I did a 30 day qt and I do prazi in qt.

What were you feeding fish as it seems to be slightly thin
Any heavy breathing, twitching/scraping against rocks?
Are eyes somewhat sunken in?

hate to see this poor guy like this but generally tangs in this condition rarely pull through just to forewarn you.

I legit feed my fish everything you can think of 2 sometimes 3 times a day rotate every feeding it’s never the same food twice in one day

I don’t think he’s gonna make it through the night. I have been keeping reef tanks for about 6 years I only really ever loose fish in my QT and then observation tanks. Once fish make it to the display we name them they are our pets and live most of my fish in display are over 4 years with me. I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong with this guy but tank parameters all appear to be in check. Do you guys think it’s possible he might have just been bullied by other fish. Also I am seeing the fish swim in loops and spins could that be signs of a swim bladder issue? Just yesterday this guy was perfectly fine super active and constantly grazing on rocks.

So I found this interesting algae in the back of one of my rocks could this maybe be the start of dinos I have heard that can harm fish??

More info

I see a spike in PH on Friday to 8.38. Not sure if that would cause any issue but thought I would put that here in cause anyone might know

You can see ORP also dips down to all time low on Friday as the PH was spiking but it normally moves with PH in this way. Just putting it here since Idunno if it could be related or not

Jay - I didn’t find the sticky note you were talking about... anyways I posted some data and and some interesting algae I found the bubbles look like maybe they are just coming from my return and pumps but I’m not sure... let me know what else info you might need to help me identify cause of this

hi,any other fish showing distress in any way?

No all other fish seem just fine my purple tang gets chased around by my yellow tang but that’s normal a couple times a day. Otherwise all fish are aggressively eating and seem normal to me.

that's a good thing,how is naso atm?

I moved him to a smaller tank since the pumps in the coral QT were just pushing him around everywhere. Also I’ve got a fox face and yellow wrasse in that tank so didn’t want anything to spread If it is a potential contagious sickness... he’s basically just on his side at the bottom of the tank. But at least low water movement and no other fish to bother him for now

I guess now I’m mostly concerned about my other fish since I’m not sure if there is anything I can do about this guy. He looked just normal yesterday so I’m sketching out that maybe other fish might get sick too. I’m prepping for fat water change tomorrow but I can only make and store 32gallons at a time and mixing requires a few hours. 32g is what I normally change weekly so to do a major water change it will need to be at least 50g to 70g.... unfortunately that is gonna have to be spread over 2 days you think that will be any good?

i am no fish expert, leaning torward cyanide poisoning, during collection, just going off ,no prior signs on naso,no problems w other fish?? not legal anymore..but is still being done:(

no i would just be on alert ,to take action if other fish have any problems

I’ll grab some water for before tomorrow’s change and send to ICP test but it will take days for me to get some results
