Hi I just got my first naso tang all my water parameters are right on but he won't eat nothing tryed nori brine shrimp mysis flake food pellet food and won't take anything I see him some time nibble at bottom of tank bit can't be getting that much from there what else should i do I don't want him to die

Have you tried seaweed seeing that tangs are herbivores.

Do you know what it was eating prior to purchase? I would contact where you purchased it from and ask, if are not sure.

Yes it was I did my research on it before purchasing it and read toake sure u see it eat before buying one it eat some frozen brine they put in o bought the same kind but no luck idk of it just needs more time to get use to tank or what but all the other fish I have eat within the first couple days

Is nori the same as seaweed or no o was told o could feed nori my foxface loves ot
Should be just fine probably don't want the salted kind for people though lol. They also make frozen herbivorous cubes that your foxfaced and tang should love. I know mine decimated a hair algae out break I had.

See if you can get your hands on some live brine shrimps at the LFS

I called a couple places for live brine I read that somewhere else but can't find any and online I see u can buy like a hatchery kit

Around here in Ma, most LFS have them at all times for finicky fish since they order them such as copperband butterflies and dragonets. Should call them and tell them you're trying to save a fish from not eating and usually they will sell you

Do you have an algae on your rocks? There is a decent chance it is pecking away at the rocks when you are not around.

Some tangs specifically do not like "clips". I know with my Kole, it would never eat nori on a clip, but when I rubberbanded some to a piece of rubble, and threw it in, that was eaten well.

I second the live brine as an "enticement." Does it look "thick" like it has been eating, or is it looking "sunken in."

Kinda skinny

I just started using Selcon supplement with frozen foods. I got it for a very skinny yellow tang and he and my other fish eat more aggressively with it!
