Neat idea displaying SPS corals! Check it out!

I am always thinking of ways to better handle SPS corals. When these corals grow in this will look great.
I would suggest Gray PVC instead of white thou. Will try this on my tank as I have a piece of Green Star Polyp that is growing like crazy and driving me nut's I use ceramic media so I can pull out my rock and remove pest's from time to time.

They should glue sand over the PVC pipe. Or rock rubble! hat would be dope.

You also need a ton of LR in the sump or something as well I would say.

Now if you did the frame in smaller pvc and attached the coral to a slightly larger peice of pvc over the small then you can spin it for trimming back and fragging.

Also not a fan. Could work for a lfs setup but not as a display. I'm all for using pvc for rock support but I agree it needs more.

Glue some rock pieces to the pvc and pile some in to create a great scape.

PVC with live rock allows for some pretty cool hidden flow arrangements. So that's a great reason for strategic use, but coralline goes crazy for smooth plastic. Might look weird with red pillars everywhere in a year or two

I thinks it's a cool idea for growing out pieces to place in a display later but Im not a fan of the look as a display itself.

Innovative, and when it fills in, many will then see the final look. This is an efficient design, it will allow less chance of pests, more flow to and around the corals, and ultimately look like the corals are plugged on rock, with the advantage of massive swimming space. I suspect the addition of pumice, sintered glass, or other form of biological media will compensate for live rock, if used properly. This should be perfect for massive feedings with easy export and less settling areas for detritus. I know it has a sterile look and it looks like a frag rack right now, but this should look amazing in about a year or two. My only critique would be the tank being so tall, I would utilize the back glass with ceramic/rock frag racks all along the back just a bit higher than the coral scape. Other than that, awesome stuff!!!

Once the corals grow it will work great. Just think you could pop a coral out of the tank easy and move them if one grows too large. You could adjust. Things. As I mention if you used gray pvc with 45 elbows and lots of t's you could make a structure similar to tonga rock. Which is a desired structure for many. [emoji3][emoji106] Just ordered the t's 45's 90's and cap's to do this. Will update this thread with how I go about doing it.
To me rock is unimportant as when in the past I had large colony SPS tanks you could not even see the rock. I like being able to remove pest and make adjustments to keep the corals in optimal health.

So here is how the go together.
I am turning down the sch 40 pipe a couple of thousands so that the fittings hold but are loose enough to adjust while in the tank and with corals growing on them.
