Need Aptaisia help

Purchase sharks with flicking laser beams atached to their heads and.... On a serious note you buy a high powered laser and zap them as previously stated.

Thank you all for the input! I tried aptaisia x again last night and it seemed to kill a few. What is the laser method?

The laser method is using a somewhat powerful laser (ebay) through the glass and burning them up one at a time with pinpoint accuracy. If you have children, don't even consider this method. If one of them plays with it, they can blind themselves or each other in 2 seconds. They should be treated with the same respect as a firearm.

I bought a filefish a few months back, man did he ever clean it up. Not an aptasia in sight, and he didn't even pick at my coral. Then I moved my duncan because it was getting stung by the rose bubble tip, it sucked in briefly, and so after that he thought it was food. I moved him into the 55, he started cleaning it up, then OJ the stone cold killer tomato clown did him in. Not even a trace left of him.

Aptasias coming back in both tanks now, did aptasia x a couple of times, but losing the battle. Bought another filefish last Thursday (this one happens to be a bit smaller) and all he does is swim up and down in one corner of the tank. Doesn't even act like he knows what his job is. We'll see if he learns or not. If he starts picking at any coral I can move him to the 55 (plenty of aptasia in there for him to eat). He'll be fine in there since OJ is no longer living at my house. Figured I can move him back and forth to keep both tanks clean.

I also am having trouble with aiptasia! I hate those darn things I lists beautiful ricordea to a monster aiptasia! For me it got to the point where I just removed infected rocks held a lighter to the sucker and burned them to death! Unfortunately I've spotted a new one that has placed himself deep in the aquascape with no chance of rock removal! Peppermint shrimp are on the way! Wish me luck

I've seen live aquaria sells "aiptasia eating pep shrimp" different from regular ones. I believe they're proven aiptasia consumers.

I have had pretty good experiences with joes juice when it comes to killing aptasia. Also I believe matted filefish and copper banded butterflies are good aptasia eaters if you wanted to try one of them.

I had one pop up a week ago. I tried hydrogen peroxide. It just made some bubbles and the aptaisia disappeared for a day then come back. So I tried another method, boiling RO water. I put boiling RO water in a dosing syringe and let the aptaisia have it. It is gone.

I have a file fish and has done the job has not bothered any of my corals. On another forum a person used a sea shell covered them then once they attached they took the shell out of the tank
