Find where the fish sleeps in the sand and remove him with a net prior to the lights coming on, they often sleep in the same area. Do not try to chase the wrasse down if possible.
How large is the tank?
How long has the Trigger shown symptoms?

for about 5 days now. i have everyone out of the tank expept for him. its 180G. im trying to figure out what to go get to treat the QT tank. if anyone has any suggestions that would be nice. i have a harliquin wrasse, coris wrass, 1 blue jaw trigger now, 1 dieing blue jaw trigger( in big net still in the tank) 4 green Chromis.

The links provided are a great place to get the answers you need here. You'll want a QT that is big enough to house all those fish.... something like a 40 breeder would easily accommodate them all. Get copper, I suggest CopperSafe, a powerfilter rated for larger than the size tank you get with a simple sponge in the filter. Remove any carbon cartridges before medicating the tank. You'll also want a bacteria in a bottle product like "Seed" and use it to soak the sponges from the filter for a couple hours before turning on the filter. Fill the tank with fresh saltwater. Add a heater, thermometer, ammonia alert badge and some PVC elbows.
You can give everybody a freshwater dip to help them breath a little better then put them into the QT. Start dosing the copper right away but take 24 hours to get the levels up to therapeutic range. You'll need an API copper test kit to keep a close eye on where the copper levels are at.

i read somewhere that for inital you can you DT water. its down to 1.010-1.011. my Harliquin tusk isnt doing to well. he is doing a lot of laying on his side... i just did a 5 min fresh water dip of all of them one at a time, exept for the male BJT he started breathing slow around 3 min so i took him out. is there anything i can do right now to help them survive?

i dont know how it go so bad so fast? i didnt see the small white dots until i got home from work and ive never seen the brown skin. he has almost kicked it... :(

Honesty, in these cases I remove my rock and dig around for the wrasse so I remove it and give it a fair shot. I stick my fingers in and "comb" or "rake" the sand until it emerges and then I catch it.

I often drain most of the water but maybe an ich or two when doing this as well. Not fun but thorough and gives everyone a chance. I've seen it take months to actually catch a fish meanwhile your fallow period has not yet begun and the fish is at risk.

Best of luck to you I hope everyone pulls through!

i tried that and i couldnt find him. i put the rock back in and im hoping he will come back out and i can find out where he is hiding.

Velvet acts very quickly I'm afraid. You'll want to get that QT up and running with copper asap. I hope he makes it that long for you. keep us posted on your progress!

You can, but it's best to just match the new water to your display. Just add freshwater to the saltwater until it matches. The reason being is that display water is full of velvet dinospores and the fish would get better faster without new attacks coming at them from the free swimmers that hitched a ride into the QT via your water.

It's taken a couple minutes to over an hour to locate wrasse before. I've done it in many 180 gallon tanks and bigger over the years on tall stands, even had to locate 2" halichoeres wrasse that are very good at moving even under the sand. With water out the sand isn't packed as tight (less weight pushing it down) and it's easier to take the sand. They go deep, too at times.

Not a fun task for sure
