Need help at wits end.

I think there is where my problems started. I would add the new QT water and then treat it.

This would cause the copper level to drop below therapeutic (even for just a few minutes) which would then give the parasites a foothold.

Is the Dussumieri the only one showing signs of a secondary bacterial infection? The acriflavine bath will help with that.

Thanks again, we'll all fish freshwater dipped, acriflavine bath and back into copper with added maniples and furasan
The frustrating part is with the API copper test is it at 1 ppm 1.5-2ppm ???!!

For chelated copper you want to aim for 1.5 to 2 preferably closer to 2 to stay in the safe zone

How are the fish doing? It will be best to see what you are dealing with under a microscope first, I think elite marine life in Pompano could help you identify what exactly you have and how to cure it, talk to Lance he wrote a book on fish deseases, best of luck!

Thanks Rogger, I'll look into it.
The fish look about the same. Kind of listless swimming at the surface of the water.

Should I keep the lights off?

Did you go straight to 2.0ppm? It may be best to ramp up over 24-48 hrs.

Lights off does help with stress. It does seem impact velvet as well a bit -- they hide from light when badly afflicted

Just checked copper levels for the umpteenth time at I can't make it out. Looks like 2 ppm???

While others may not agree...I've gotten better results lifting the vile a 1/2" or so above the white part of the card. Alternatively, comparing outside with bright sunlight may help.

I use Chloroquine phosphate and normally I have no lights on while treatment is happening.

Yes I remembered reading about the lights and have kept lights off.
Rogger any contacts or thoughts on where to buy chloroquine phosphate? I've seen one seller on eBay but I'm skeptical about buying from him.

You'll need a prescription from a vet to get the pure stuff. You can fill it online at diamondbackdrugs.com They are a trusted source. The stuff you can get on ebay is from china and the purity is suspect at best. This means that you can't be sure how much actual CP is in the water and since you can't test for it, you don't know if they are getting therapeutic doses.

Anybody ever order chloroquine phosphate from fishmedsonline.com?

When it comes to CP, don't trust it unless it comes from a pharmaceutical source. Meaning, you'll need to obtain a Rx from a vet to get it.
