Hi everyone. I just bought this for 3 days. I found some weird stuff this morning. Some tentacles color is weird. Looks like some brown film on it. I’m just new to saltwater aquarium. Any advice you could give would be much appreciated.

Frogspawn and can't tell what you are concerned about in the pics.

Thank you for reply.
Well. Seller tell me this is torch. I mean when I got this. All tentacles is Fluorescent green. Rn some tentacles looks brown. I searched on web and it told me this could be a bacterial infection.

100% frogspawn.

Can you share with us you current tank parameters? Temp, SG, Nitrate, Phosphate at a minimum.

Also what kind of lighting do you have?

When that extended, tentacles won’t be so brightly colored. I’ve also noticed with my green torch that it appears more brown looking at it from underneath and will look bright green if you look at it from the top.

I wouldn’t worry about that rn. I’ve had some struggles with brown slime disease (that bacterial infection you mentioned). The tentacles will be retracted and it’ll look like it’s “throwing up” the brown jelly. The coral is probably just acclimating to your tanks parameters and lighting, both of which can effect color of coral.
on a side note, if it does start to spit that brown jelly, take it out or isolate it in a separate cup floating in the water to treat it. Brown jelly is highly contagious and will spread to whatever the jelly stuff lands on
on a separate side note, it is definitely frogspawn.

The seller was either misinformed or lied. As the others have said, this is a pretty standard frogspawn coral. Given the price of Frogspawn vs. Hammers, I hope you didn't pay too much. These frags go for anywhere from $10-30 per head around me whereas most hammers are a good deal more expensive. The color looks pretty normal to me. When they are fully extended like yours are in the picture (which is a good thing), the color tends to be a little more muted and the tentacles can almost be sort of transparent.

Another thing to note is that lighting GREATLY impacts how colors show up on coral. Unless you have the same light set to the same settings as the seller you're buying from, it's most likely that your coral is going to look different in your tank than it did in theirs. It's pretty common for sellers to turn up the blues and use camera filters to get their corals glowing in pictures. But even if you saw it in person in their tank, the lighting was likely different. Keep that in mind going forward.

thank you guys. I will keep a eye on it.

How big is you tank?

I'm not sure that light is powerful enough to give the necessary PAR to maintain the zooxanthellae

When lighting isn't sufficient, corals will overproduce zooxanthellae and that causes them to turn brown.

It’s still a really nice frogspawn and looks to be a good size based on the photos - that would go for 80+ near me depending on size.

It’s 10gal. I want to buy a big one at least 30 gal when I plan to set up a saltwater tank but my gf was stare at me. I can imagine how my life will changed for the next couple days if I carry a big tank back home.

Lol. I'm still willing to bet that the light you have is not strong enough to grow healthy coral. You don't need a top of the line light but even an inexpensive "black box" LED light would be way better than what you have currently.

You're good. My frogspawn did this. It's gone away now.I wouldn't worry it doesn't look like brown jelly disease.

Mine is the same way
