Need help identifying please

These have nearly grown on all our live rock. What are they? Brown wispy stick-like things.

Pictures under white lighting are generally helpful for ID's.

Definitely need a white light picture in this case

A white light picture would be good, but these look like a type of hydroids. If you have the same type that I had, they spread very quickly and you have to remove them with tweezers putting all of the flesh at the base

Oh, and see if they smell awful in exposed air

Vermetid snails. Lots of them too.

With aiptasia and some form of algae.

Not hard, they look hard but are whispy

It can be brown.

Spot on with snails snd aptaisia, but its the algae stuff we are trying to ID.
