Need help identifying please

It would be a beast as it is similar to bubble and known as Boergesenia forbesii which often cluster and has a root system and best is to remove rock and place into a container of tank water and pulloff with a dental pick and scrape the remainder off doing final cleanup with a firm toothbrush.

I searched up Boergesenia earlier and I decided not to post about it since it seems too “bulbous.” However, younger growth might look different, though I would not know. In any case OP’s algae does appear to be some kind of pest algae (and unfortunately so since I think it looks pretty neat in my opinion).

Its something like bubble wrap where you want to just pop it (lol)
