Just notice my corals are not coming out no more and there starting to grow some brown stuff on them I have a 6 gal nano and I do a water change every 3 days. I'm new to this so can u please help I want my corals to get there color back

You probably have a water chemistry issue. I would start with ammonia and nitrates testing since the tank is small. Next specific gravity and temp. Then if that is all fine Ca/Mag/Alk. If you do not have the test kits get it done at the local fish store until you can get your own test kits.

That Red Scooter Blenny will not survive in that tank, the tank is far too small, you'll need meet it's nutritional needs.

The Dotty Back might be ok, but a 6 gallon tank can only handle one small fish.

Good luck.

too many fish, and that scooter blenny won't live, did the LFS know that you have a 6 gallon? Hope they didn't, shame on them for selling that to a newbie >:/ That's a hard fish to keep, and impossible in this situation :( Do they accept returns?

Also with the coral problem, it's probably water chemistry like Tahoe said, anythin I say will just be a repeat.

also could be your camel shrimp, they love corals, eat em right up!

I got rid of the shrimp already so I'm guessing I'm going to have to get rid of my scooter fish as well :/

It's for the greater good, pretty fish I know, wouldn't want to get rid of it either. If you really want that look, you can get a yasha goby, they're also really nice, and not that pricy. Still, I think if you want all those fish you need to beef up your filtration, what are you using for filtration?

Well right now I have 2 clown fishes and that dotty back I think that is enough fish no I'm just going to keep adding some coral and for flirtation nothing to fancy the nano comes with 3 chambers and I took out the sponge that it had in the first chamber and replaced it with another type of sponge and the other chamber I put live sand and broken pieces of live work and I been running it like that for months now

Test for ammonia, phosphate, nitrate, alk, calcium, and mag if you can. Also what's your salinity level?

I would lower your nitrates. And he means do you either top your tank if with tap water, or do you mix your own salt water with tap water.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
