Need help pls

@Jay Hemdal do you think the wrasse can handle full copper. I’ve got him in 1ppm right now along with one chromis just can’t seem to catch the other chromis but I’m gonna increase copper tonight. The wrasse seems to be doing ok right now I’ve got hob filter, a air stone and a power head in a 29g qt should be enough to keep oxygenated correct

Wrasse are sensitive to copper/citric acid, but fare a bit better in organically chelated copper products. Here is the thing though - given the history here, I'm thinking if you don't get the copper ramped up right away, you'll just lose the fish anyway. The trouble is, even if you get the copper up fast, it still may not be fast enough, velvet is a nasty disease. My general advice is, unfortunately, pretty pessimistic; once you lose fish to an outbreak of velvet, even prompt treatment may not stop the mortality.

@Jay Hemdal i have another question for you that I need your opinion on? Since I lost everything but my wrasse which is now in 2ppm copper power. Would it be ok to go ahead and add a pair of clowns into the qt with the wrasse while I’m treating him or should I wait the fallow out and once I get the wrasse through qt and back in dt then qt a pair of clowns

That is a tough question. My general advice (that I even follow myself!) is that if I add a new fish during quarantine, the counter resets to zero. Normally, that's not a huge deal - but in the case of the wrasse, it might just be too much copper for too long. If the wrasse looks good, you MIGHT be able to sneak the clowns in now, and run them through without resetting the timer. It does complicate things though, and you definitely want to get good quality clowns, not tiny ones that I sometimes see in stores.

@Jay Hemdal I have a qt process question for you. So before all of this happened I purchased some fish online from a trusted company. So now I have a observation tank set up plus I have the qt. More than 10ft spaced. Anyways if I already have fish in the observation tank after the 15 days of copper treatment can I move the wrasse to the observation tank as well.
I was gonna order a pair from divers den but I can wait. I will keep you updated on the outcome

I'm not sure I have the details clear...the fish you have in the observation tank haven't undergone any treatment? I always worry about that, because you are then trusting the dealer to have performed a full quarantine for you. I even fully quarantine fish I receive from another public aquarium - I trust no fish(grin).

When I use "observational quarantine" I only do it on fish that won't stand up to my normal process, and I usually keep them isolated for at least 45 days.

If there is pressure to move fish around because you are having difficulty keeping their tank condition stable, then you might need to take some risks, otherwise, not moving them is always the safest option (grin)

So the fish I ordered. I am doing observation only on because they came from quarantined fish. Which was highly recommend from r2r. I actually wasn’t going to set up a qt at all and just order everything from him however I made the noob move to buy a fish at my lfs on a splurge and infected my dt so now the qt is set up and a observation tank for the fish I ordered. However I think I agree with it’s safer all around to just leave the wrasse in treatment for the full 30 days. After the 30 days I can then just do water changes to remove the copper and observe in that same tank for another 2 weeks correct. I know I’m asking a lot sorry if I’m bothering you I’m trying to learn the correct ways to do this so I maybe won’t have to go fallow again

Oh, no bother at all! Yes - if the wrasse seems stable, that would be what I would do. Quarantined Fish is a good source for two reasons; first is the treatments they provide will reduce the incidence of disease. Second, the time this takes weeds out some fish that are "poor do-ers", fish that aren't going to thrive no matter how they are handled. That said, shipping fish causes stress, and that can cause latent diseases to "break", so I always re-quarantine fish, no matter the source.

Here is a story: I had a group of red devil cichlids, they had been in my tanks for years, even reproducing. Only lost one or two here and there. I sent 100 of them to another public aquarium who put them directly on exhibit. A month later I got an irate call from their curator - "why didn't you tell me they had gill flukes!". He was losing fish in droves, but mine were all still just fine! I figured they got sick from something in his tanks, but sure enough, I did a necropsy on one of ours and found a latent gill fluke infestation! If he had dosed them with prazi before putting them on exhibit, he wouldn't have had that problem.

Jay that makes sense as well. And now due to this out break I have meds on hand and 2 20g long tanks set up for qt and observation. The wife actually asked if I was gonna put a tank in the bathroom as well because I have one in each room now. However through all of this i am learning what to do and what to pay attention to
