Need help with your aquascape?

Ardeus love the feedback you continually give to people!

Any advice on my 57g rimless? Bit of a mess right now... need to probably take at least one rock out. (can also take better pics with full lights not just blue tonight)

The tank looks smaller than it is because it has so much rock.

If you want to try another layout, remember to keep rock away from the side glasses. This will make the tank look bigger than it is.

If you are going for 2 structures, create a real separation between them and make them with different heights.

The 2 structures look good by themselves. The only little rocks I would keep would have to be placed in a way like they have fallen from the bigger structures.

Thank you! Updating with the final aquascape now that I cleaned up the bottom. I must say I am very happy with the shapes and sizes of this live rock. Nice angles and protrusions. I was able to get it all set sturdy without any glue, epoxy or rods.

Thank you! Updating with the final aquascape now that I cleaned up the bottom. I must say I am very happy with the shapes and sizes of this live rock. Nice angles and protrusions. I was able to get it all set sturdy without any glue, epoxy or rods.

It looks interesting from all sides and the best thing is that the rock structure has free space around to "breath".

I wouldn't worry about the structure not looking seamless, the corals will change that.

This looks like a good place for small fish to live, they will enjoy that amount of rock and arches. The rocks also blend well into each other.

It does look full already, even without corals because the rock fills the tank from left to right and top to bottom.

The fish will love it and if you love it too, don't change it. I would stick to small fish, especially ones that aren't big swimmers. Any slightly bigger fish will add up to the feeling that the tank is too small for its content. Small fish will help revert that.

No it will not be visible from the back. Thanks I will move the big structure more towards the back and open the front more.

I've always enjoyed the aquascaping portion of a build....in fact I think I've set up more and more aquariums simply for the aquascaping part lol! So the time as come to begin the slow process of playing with rocks. It will probably take me a couple months before I'm happy. I've always preferred an minimalist tank with room for corals to take up the space. So here is my first pass for my 425XL build....I'll let it sit for a couple days and come back to it and most likely start over ( my usual process) until I'm satisfied.....honestly never happy but satisfied.

I too enjoy the scaping part. I have been working on my scape for more than a year. It helps that it's dry rock outside of the tank. I've taken it apart so many times, I forget what the first scape looked like. I play around with each piece like it's a puzzle. I look at all sides of each piece of rock to make sure it looks like it grew from the other pieces. I could easily spend a couple hours at a time playing around with it. Your scape looks great.
