Finally had some time to watch this and it is excellent. Very entertaining.

This is what I ended up whit.

It’s gonna be a sps tank, whit “easy and fast growing” montipora’s and fish wise it’s gonna be a couple of big angles a pair of flame angles and 3 butterfly’s (C. auriga)

What do you think? I’ve tried to keep the scape low, so the corals have space to grow up :-)

Tank is 7,5 feet long. The small tower in the bottom is part of the system.

That tank is beautiful!

Where do people get these huge rocks all mine suck

I had 4 big rocks and smashed them all to baseball/softball size to make the scape the way I wanted. Used AF stone fix to cement it together

Holy cow.....that looks great!!!!

unfortunately at 10:30 pm I didn't give myself the dimensions to stay within, and the width of the structure was 24" front to back, and my tank is 18". But I have something similar in the tank now, just modified.

Just getting around to aquascaping my new 250 gallon. The tank is 60x36x27, and the cardboard is roughly the size of the tank. It's going to be bare bottom with black abs. I made the two larger structure outside the tank and ran out of epoxy. I like the open space idea, but with such a deep tank and no sand I was hesitant to do two islands. It's going to be heavily sps, but the cove idea was to allow for some lower flow lps. Only the two bigger structures are glued, so I am open to ideas.

Thanks!

Great job Mike. The placement of your rock is spot on. I was wondering if you could add even more interest by changing the orientation of one of them. I see basically 3 structures with that one little guy expertly placed up front. The 3 all gently slope down left to right, and looks great. I was thinking that smaller rock in the middle behind that Little rock up front would add interest if it gently slipped the other way, right to left. Nice work!

Thanks for the input. I’ll try it. However, a fire red goby has made it his home and is annoying my wife because she wants to see him more often.

This looks great. My only suggestion would be to add some asymmetry. Like this:

Thanks, you know I was talking with my wife and she agrees, add some height as the left and right side are pretty close in height. And I may have to make break the continuous cove, particularly because the middle overflow juts out, so adding to the left side height is spot on. I'm going to try and make an overhang on that back tall spot. To be continued. Thanks!

That is a great looking tank. Your scape as is will look awesome and even better with a couple of tweaks.

I like that the cove doesn’t exactly face the front. Nice work overall.

This is my first attempt at aquascaping. I know I need more rock but wasn't sure what 50 lbs of rock would look like so I short changed myself. Going to order more. One of the rocks on the right side island fits nicely on top of the other structure so I will probably move it over.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
