IceCap K50

icecap nano. Used it on my nuvo 20 and currently using another one on my nuvo 40. Fits in the second chamber without mods. Skims out coffee just in time for breakfast.

which compartment did you place it in?
is it a set and forgot type..

or do you have fiddle with it to tune it in?

any pics :)

I would honestly recommend not using a skimmer for this tank. Stick to larger water changes, 5-10 gallons, weekly and you should be good. Those smaller skimmers don’t work the best and I just don’t think the expense is justified.

I had the same tank before I set up my current tank and had the IM skimmer on it and just didn’t notice a difference that justified the extra cost and added equipment. I wish I would have listened to the advice to just up my water changes. With a tank that volume, water changes are the best export method.

2nd chamber. No fiddling until you have to remove and replace it. It's an easy skimmer 24 hour break in from both skimmers. my reminder for plament is the collection cup an inch above the tank. I'll take a pic when I get home. I clean the pump monthly since it's small and everything else as needed. it will overflow on its first night from my experience but will fix itself. I find it to skim more the less I clean the body.

Eshopps Nano fits in there as well.
The back chamber is 2.8" front to backk, so make sure no dimension on it are larger than that, for instance that Icecap someone mentioned has a 3.5x4.75" footprint and a 3" body diameter, won't fit. The Icecap K1 will it's under 3"

I’ve been following along too. Anyone have comments on noise levels of the icecap or others?

I read where the icecap was noisey but the reviews were from when they first launched. Don’t know if there’s been any improvements since? I have a useless IM ghost skimmer, looking to find a more effective replacement

Also following...I have been using the IM Nuvoskim DC Universal. Its just OK and boy is it loud.

Tunze Collins DOC 9001 is a great nano skimmer IME.

Been using the New skimmer by IM Nuvoskim . Works great! 1 week skim here
