So I’m getting a nice new piece a Hawaii Acro from battlecorals. But I can’t find any info on this piece. Does anyone have and pics of some in their tank and placement pointers? Getting this piece along with the snipers blue contest piece.

Wow. Very nice, I do not ever remember coming across that one. And I try to check all the stags and tables.

Purchased the same, they arrive tomorrow I'll let you know what it does for me

Was it collected in Hawaii?

It is not A. Hyacinthus, which is one of the most common tabling acropora. The long axial tubes and corallites remind me of A. Lorpies or A. Granulosa, but no idea for sure.

It is just called Hawaii, not from Hawaii. Collecting in Hawaii is not legal. Owning coral from Hawaii, without a collection permit, is not legal.

This was the kind of stuff I wanted to know. I should have the flow covered and light covered. Just gotta find a nice place for it. It’s a decent size piece but doesn’t have the color right now. May just be the stress of the travel and all. Will get a pic up.

You won't find anyone with the "Hawaii" yet or anything larger than a frag. I think he just added it to his site a week or two ago.

Yes, it is illegal to collect hard corals for commercial purposes throughout the Hawaiian archipelago.
There is in fact absolutely no permit for such.
Scientific permits are so hard to acquire nowadays!!
I just wanted to know where it was collected and the reason for the name.
It was actually originally collected in Australia, and Hawaii is just a name, said Adam.
So hard to guess the species name without sending a sample to the right guy!!
