Need some info on Hawaii Acro from Battlecorals

This is the piece of Hawaii that I received from Battlecorals. It’s the piece in the middle.

I can confirm that it's not from Hawaii. There are 7 confirmed species of Acropora that occur in Hawaii (mostly in the Northwestern Islands) with a few more unconfirmed reports. However the growth pattern of the corallites is pretty different from the species found in the region. Best of luck figuring out what it is

These is the picture from Battlecorals:

The Hawaiian species are actually 6:
Acropora cytherea
A. gemmifera
A. humilis
A. cerealis
A. valida
There is an extra "unknown species" that we call:
"cerealis/valida". That is probably a hybrid.

As I've said before, the coral from Battlecorals called "Hawaiian" is an Aussie species and "Hawaiian" is just a name.

Good point one is a hybrid and not a true species

We know that its not from Hawaii. What i was looking for was placement flow and growth information. I have found out that this is a pretty new piece so not much info. Will try to keep this up to date and get some info out on this piece.

I would say mid-strong light and good flow to keep it's colors and shape.
It is almost impossible to keep the shape the colonies have when they are first collected and the colors will vary tremendously with so many types of LED fixtures you guys have and possible individual settings.
My recommendation to every SPS species, and specially Acropora sp. is metal halides/T5s.
Unfortunately Adam doesn't know the species' name. But you could contact him and ask what is the light he is growing the frags under. That is a great info to try to keep it's colors. Again, photograph changes colors too, so...

You won't find anyone with the "Hawaii" yet or anything larger than a frag. I think he just added it to his site a week or two ago.

Correct, I've had this one about a year or two a but only shot it for the site about a month ago now. It was from a large system that was being taken down. I ended up with a decent frag. Has been captive many many years, but I have no idea of the actual origin. Aussie or maybe Fiji would be my best guess. The name was inspired by a recent release of my brothers band Collection of Colonies of Bees. I can be pretty topical sometimes when it comes to these things lol.
