I hate to do this cause I am not that kind of person but i need suggestions. I placed a order with one of the sponsers on here. It was a 840 dollor order. And in December I placed a thosand dollor order also. But the order for 840 dollors came in and was garbage. One frag was dead the purple hornet was the size or a pin head and still is so I'm not sure if it is real. I bought a grape melon that was supposed to hold its color and has never been grape at all. And it gets better I also order a 5 color golden eye that was the size of a pin head also and was recceded to nothing. I p[laced this order like two months ago. I sent a email and he said he would send me a box of goodies. I waited for two months nothing. So I sent him a email this week and he replied he would send me a box of goodies but not for two months cause it is so hard to ship in the summer. I am sick of waiting and sending emails. I have spent good money with this vendor and I feel I was screwed over. I need suggestions on what to do. Thanks for any help Frank

I wouldn't pull any punches, and tell them to make it right. If they don't - post up and tell us about it so we don't get screwed too.

I am soooooo tired of getting stuff online, only to find out it was photoshopped, the coral looks like crap, or it is so tiny I can't even tell if it is a coral or algae. I literally got a chalice that was smaller than the bubble algae on the plug.

There is a respectful way to post your negative feedback, which is a struggle for me ;) but it needs to be done so others know what to expect from them if they purchase stuff.

These forums are meant for us to share not only the stand up people and vendors in the hobby, but also the bad.
Either they will make it right, or they will have to deal with everyone knowing that they don't.

That is my take.....

as i feel for you and your concerns but i am not sure this is a good topic of this section of R2R. i know you did not give a name which show you have some respect for R2R and its sponsers. i am going to move this to vender feedback.
thanks.

Respect for R2R and its sponsors? What about the respect that should be given to the customers that spend their hard earned money with them, and they don't get the same type of respect back?

I think this is a great topic that should be discussed. I'd like to see what more people have to say about this, and how these things can be posted while still being respectful, but passing on the first hand knowledge of what it is like to deal with a specific vendor - either good or bad.

Just passing on good information is definitely NOT what I view a forum to be good for. It should also be to allow other people to know what to expect when we are spending our hard earned cash on photos, since we have nothing else to go by.

amen!

I have contacted the vendor several times. He tells me he is having a tuff time and a bunch of other stuff. I have waited months and got no where. I had fellow reefers come over to see my purple hornets and they laughed at me and told me I got screwed. I have got a lot of corals from this vendor never with a problem. Now he tells me its best to move on and he understands. So I just should take the loss. What is so hard about shipping in the summer. The guy sells corals on line. So he can ship everboby elses corals that order but not mine. Sorry to keep going on but I'm pist

There is nothing hard about shipping right now. I just shipped 3 boxes without heat or cold packs.

It is the perfect time to ship right now.

I agree with Sikryd. I would give him one more chance, let him know that you are going to make a thread telling the whole story and see if that gets you anywhere. If not, post up who it is so we can be sure to avoid them. Good luck, I hope it does not come to that and the vendor does the right thing by you.

Its not a threat to post what happened either. Its posting your experience.

I got threatened by a vendor with a ridiculous slander lawsuit for posting my experience. He thought that would he would try and strong arm me into going away and not saying anything. Which won't happen of course.

Saying nothing only reinforces the vendor to keep on screwing people.

This is THEFT, bait and switch, or whatever the case may be depending on how they do it. I'm not saying the vendor in question did this to you. I'm just saying that in general, posting pictures of stuff FOR SALE, that are doctored up, is theft and bait and switch, and needs to be stopped.
We don't have anything else to go by, so lying via picture about the color of something is nothing less than stealing as far as I am concerned.

Reread where he said he wasnt sure this was a good topic for this section, thus it was moved to the current forum.

Nothing wrong with leaving feedback and telling the truth. That we will not stop and we would advise members to leave feedback both good and bad. Leaving feedback and flaming is two different things however and the flaming part is what we do not want to see. Leave feedback, no problem. Save getting personal for email apart from R2R.

I tried that. He won't ship for two months cause he says its to hard to ship in this weather. Anyone want to give there two cents about that??

I would give the vendor a call and see what they can do, and why they can't ship for two months. If they are replacing a chalice or something, they might not have a frag possible if what they sent to you was a booger sized one.
I definetely wouldn't post a bad experience without talking to the vendor first via phone or pm and letting them know what you weren't happy about, and giving them a chance to make the experience with them better, while having realistic expectations of the outcome that you would like to see.

This way seems to allow them some leeway on how to handle the situation, you to be able to get to know where they are coming from, and together trying to come to an amicable resolution where everyone is happy.

BTW -

From now on you might want to get a picture of the frag you are actually paying for.

I won't order from anywhere without a picture of the actual frag being shipped. And the same goes for selling frags. I don't ship or sell anything without a person being able to see the frag in question with full lighting on, which the actual frag pictured. That way they know exactly what they are getting.

I won't post negative feedback for any vendor that did this to me. I bought stuff before from vendors on here and the frag was sooooooo tiny I didn't know if it was a coral or not for 3 months.
That is on me though - I trusted them, and didn't ask for a picture of the frag. They won't get my business again, or a recommendation from me to other reefers though.
If I am spending $200-$300 on ONE piece, at least ship something that you would be stoked to receive yourself.

That is a very good suggestion.

$850 dollars is ALOT of money for things not to be made right. Especially as you had spent $1000 previously. But I feel you should say who it is so they can possibly add their .02 or give an explanation. We all order from sponsors, and its scary when there's a bad seed out there!!

my comments are based on the fac he's not blashing , he's not flaming, as that show respect. but for it being in the general disc forum may not be a good place for this topic. i have nothing against this topic just feel it would serve better here in the vender feedback.

So im straight on this your waiting for a bonus box or the corals you ordered? and if he/she sent pics did he/she send diffrent peices? I think most sponsors here would take care of you including myself if you spend that kind of money and not string you along but the long of the short of it is if you leave bad feedback he/she probly wont send new goodies they wont need to then as damage will be done so up to you and I hate to see this.

They sent me pics of all the frags I wanted. They said they would just send out a box of freebies to make up for it. I sent him a email two days ago saying that I just wanted the purple hornet that I ordered. It just sucks either way you look at it. The PH he sent where fake. The frags I got where supposed to be big. But they where nothing. I have got small frag before. These where really small. I just am going to move on. After the lie that he cannot ship in the summer I don't want to deal with it anymore. I will just give my money to someone that wants a good customer. I just hate to tell you guys and girls his name cause I don't want any problems. But I would also hate for any of you to go threw this.
