Trident does make whirs and clicks when running. Heck of a lot quieter than the birds that start chirping right around 6 am though. Try a tea cozy.

Have you checked the manual vs auto settings.

It has to test 4 times a day but you may be able to do a manual start time of 1am then 7am then 1pm and 7pm.

Generally the Trident is powered straight by a custom connector into the EB832 - you would have to make a custom timer and splice it into the proprietary power and data cable.

Have to adjust you sleep schedule around the trident testing! Im Jk. I have mine in my apex cabinet now and I can't hear it at all unless I open the door. Before it was out in the open and I could hear it but it's not in the room I sleep in so its wasn't a problem. I'm not sure your setup but if you can get a small cabnenit or somehow put it inside something it should help keep the sound down.

I just cover it in pillows now kinda p off though that they’d make something you can’t adjust I understand the 4 test a day but at least let me change the times up a little

Yeah I understand. Im with other folks, I dont understand why you can't customeize the time of the tests. Even if they wanted to keep set intervals between each test but start at another time. I can program my FMM to change the toliet paper in the bathroom but can't program the trident to not squeal like a pig at midnight.

It’s definitely not loud enough to bother me during the day but at dead at night it’s loud . Honestly I love Concept of Neptune but for the money we put out for them and the quality of the products it’s kinda of a shame.

If your Trident sounds like R2D2 then it needs to be updated.
I liked when it sounded like R2D2 but so many complained about it they revised the software and did an update, to remove the R2D2 sounds.
Made me mad. I wish there was an option to return it.

the only fix is to change your time zone. If your eastern time zone ( -5) change it to (-7) or (-8) California This will add 3 hours to the normal test.
instead of 06::00 it will test at 8 or 9. Adversely it will add the same amount of time to the mid night test so it will postpone it until 2 or 3 am.
Nothing wakes me up as 2-3, but any noises at 6 would wake me. This is a personal choice.

But doesn't this change the complete clock on the system including dosing schedules and all data collection times? I know you can do the math when needed but it sounds confusing for setting up everything else.

Yes the overall system clock will be off. It’s not an ideal fix as you will have to adjust to the time zone you set.
it can be confusing and should only be done if you have your mind set On trident test times

Following this thread, is like to know as well. The trident is not as loud compared to other apex products (ie. Dos , auto feeder), but it’s just enough to wake you up.

Other than the Tridant being loud, what are your other complaints about Tridant and Apex system in general. I just bought the Apex, DOS and Tridant set up and it’s out for delivery now. Meaning I still have time to return it and go the GHL rout if that’s a better system. With GHL I just don’t like that it’s a lot more expensive and it requires a ton of dosing pumps. Look at this set up, it doesn’t even have the ION system with it yet.

Hello so I have a Neptune trident and ovb like it requires it runs 4 times a day. Well the biggest issue with it is the trident runs at 6 in the morning and wakes me every god dang morning is there any way to fix this with the clock or something?
