So went to LFS to get water for my tank and ended up leaving with 2 zoa frags. This hobby is terrible. I have to stop myself from spending my whole paycheck at the lfs lol. You can see the Xenia in the video all opened up doing good as well. But the zoas aren't opened up yet but once they get settled in il add more pics. IMG_20220606_122806.jpg

They are starting to slowly open up I will upload more videos soon

Oh trust me I am brother lol. Wish I would of started years ago but atleast I'm finally starting. Thing that sucks is saltwater fish are nothing like freshwater fish as I can see. I have defied all odds in my community 55gallon tank and have fish in there that people say don't mix and what not but saltwater fish have way more personality and are way more Territorial then freshwater fish. I just want a HUGE tank with alot of fish lol!

This is a hobby of impulse and it can get the best of you. be careful with sudden additions which can create problems and this is mainly with fish opposed to coral. Elevate the zoa a little and assure moderate light and water flow.

I have them on the sand bed as I just added them only a few hours ago I was letting them acclimate before moving to final home. You think they need to be closer to light?

lol that sounds like me!!!! Omg ahahaha have a few drinks and head to the lfs and end up always leaving with either a new coral or new fish for my freshwater tank or salt lol

Here's another video of the zoas and my other corals and fish lol I know it's hard to see the color of the zoas but idk how to get a video or picture with the actual color of them.but they are opening up. You can see the green on the one but the other is a red and orange and it's hard to see but you can see the arms of the zoa starting to reach out

Depends on what par ur pushing. I have mine on a rack half way up the tank back glass w 2x xr15 g5 pros running ab+ 70% intensity. And they seem happy still don’t know my par need a rental but I see growth and color

Yea I need somebody to have control over my bank account because I can not stop lol. It's addicting but it's so satisfying at the same time and I love watching something grow and become healthy knowing I gave it the best life and foods and all ya know.

Here's another video of the corals again I know it's hard to see the color but you can see the zoas are opening up more and more. You can see the green in the center of the one but the other that is red is harder to see in the blue light but I zoomed in at end of the video you can see it has opened. I also did a water change with the LFS water it's red sea coral and the corals are.taking to it awesome. Even my pipe organ is opening up more. That is the salt mix they use for there coral tanks btw. But yea sorry for the spam.i just love my tank ahaha

Yea this hobby has been draining me over the past 2 years lol I just started my salt tank but have had freshwater for a while. But salt is way better not going to lie

Yeaaaah I suffered from that when I first started out.
Don't go too crazy too quickly, you'll find your nutrients swing and you'll lose things or make them unhappy (and then they look bad). I had that problem after adding too many things in a period of only a couple months haha.

Well the tank has already been up and running for a few months with just fish in it I just starting adding corals this weekend after I purchased my light. So the tank is already cycled

Wasnt so much as referring to it being cycled.
Adding too much too quickly increases the bioload too quickly and unless you're familiar with and dosing to compensate the sudden drop in nutrients you might find yourself in a slight pickle at some stage.
