Been breeding nems for years, bta's in particular. Seem to have found a new kind ive never seen before, curious if anyone has seen it before. it appears to be half a green and half a rose bta. I usually only get rbta's but this guy is entirely different. Attached is a photo, let me know what you guys think! Thanks

That’s just a Bleached Bubble tip
How are you breeding bubble tips ? Never heard of anyone successfully breeding them in a home aquarium

Ive seen them bleached many times, I have over 60 in this tank. It is hard to tell in the pictures but the bubbles are green.

I suppose it is possible that its full of extra acid splashes.

Yeh lol how are u breeding bubble tips?? Or do u mean u are propagating them?

Over 60 bubble tips and they don’t split ?
Only known breeding that has happened is at the Waikiki Aquarium. How’s the water quality after they spawn ?

Excellent. It is a 26 year old system. I believe the process is called budding if I remember correctly. Here is an older picture as the video doesn't seem to be working. nems1.jpg

Apparently half and half anemones are out there.

Thank you! That is very interesting, this one looks a bit more like the 4th and 5th one in the pictures, with slightly more defined bulbs. All the babies are very small, regardless of color. Usually less than half an inch with just a few bulbs.
It could also just be one with so many acid splashes, I have just never seen one quite like it.

They sound awesome! Make sure to keep updating this post. I can’t ever get videos to load on here. So post pics as they open up etc! Can’t wait to see them!

Nice tank ! Waikiki Aquarium had trouble with there water quality when they spawned . Was just curious

I started out just wanting my snowflakes to host a nem. I never expected things to go like this! I enjoy the hobby so very much, and think it is so important to try and learn things on your own. So many tanks follow a strict set of “rules” and ask what to dose and what to run and what not. While it is great and it’s a learning experience I find the most important lessons are learned through trial and error. Make things your own, make mistakes and learn how to make them better.

My rose bubbles spawn regularly. They did not start spawning until my matron clowns started to lay eggs but my clowns spread the babies all over the tank and feed every one of them with either the pellets or the frozen food.I started with 3 rose bubble tips and now have over 20 in 6 mo

My clowns don’t seem to have much effect on them. How old is your tank, If you don’t mind my asking?
