It contains minerals, bacteria etc. Using it more than twice a week may not be an issue but you should observe your tank closely. I would suggest don't over do it.

I used this product - with no scientific back up, yep. However, It would be common sense to get a base line on all parameters especially NO3 and P04 to see what , if any, changes are done before and after utilizing LS. ( I have not done so- and I am OK with the lack of empirical evidence on my part).

Altogether, I have no negative indicators involving any sort of livestock. I "dose" Life Source on a MONTHLY basis- when I remember.
I run AF 100% and I like to tinker with my tanks- so until Pros or Cons are documented and debated thoroughly, I will continue to try the product sparingly.

I also agree that the water column is Super Clear afterwards-for many days. I would begin testing NO3 and P04 before testing for data.

I did measure NO3 and PO4 before and after use. I Checked it in 12 hours interval and there was no significant change in both them.

I can emphatically say that as long as I've used it , I've seen an increase in pod populations. I've also seen an increase in sponges.

How could you possibly see any effect on sponges in a short term?
