It looks like you could syphon it out. I would remove as much as possible and do like a 25-30% water change. You'll lose water when you are syphoning anyhow. The water change will help lower the nutrients that are fueling that. Maybe cut back on your fish feeding a bit too until you get things back on track.
 
I'm thinking your fish baby sitter fed a bit more than you do, that is a common occurrence. I pre-measure food now when I go away and only have the fish fed every other day.
 
My tank has been up and running over 3 months now. All numbers are good. I put a clean up crew in last week and now my live rock is white. They have cleaned everything off. I put 5 large snails, 6 smaller crabs and snails. My tank is 36 gallon. What will they eat now ? I have 3 fish.
