NEW BUILD BUT WORRIED ABOUT DINO.

I wouldn't choose a UV based on what the manufacturer recommends as it's not necessarily rating for dinos. For ostreoposis, it seems the UV should be 1 watt for every 2-3 gallons. This can be accomplished with a lot of the more reputable brands or cheaply with something like the 60w jebaos. Undersizing your UV seems not to work well for eradication.

+1 on this.

The Jebaos get some really bad reviews here and on Amazon. Bad seals and a liner that decays/dissolves. Some of that may be user error -- like forgetting to turn the lamp off before shutting the pump -- but read them for yourself.

Thanks guys. I feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel now having read hours about it. Knowing how to keep them from blooming and how to eradicate them makes me feel less doom and gloom and more excitement towards the new build

The dd reef pro (deltec tanks) are stunning and I can't wait to get going. I think this might be fish and annenome only tank.

So just an update guys, tanks been set up two weeks now, and touch wood. No sign of dino. I had the rock in a holding container for 3 days until I could transfer everything and for some reason, it vanished.

Not sure if this was planned/mentioned, but if you’re transferring water from the old tank, I would run that water through UV for a few hours in a closed loop bucket to maximize the chance of killing any ostreopsis free floating around.

Thanks, I decided to use zero old water, but I had quite a lot of die off on some live rock which quickly brought nitrate and phosphate up. New sand also and more love rock added as well as pods.
