New carpet

Yes good luck indeed.. I will update as soon as I get home and take a wiff

Sorry extremely long day.. the wife was against me disturbing it. She doesn't want stress to kill it If its ok.
Here is a pic from tonight.. the foot is still on top of the sandbed, it is moving around that area of the tank so tonight I spent some time clearing some corals out from there... The only time it looked bad today was after it crapped. But we have read that they will shrink down and close up for a bit after that. Will see what it looks like in the morning and post another pic!

Here is a shot of it today.. mouth close and carpet spread open.. when I fed the fish yesterday some of the shrimp landed on it, but the tenticles just retracted and the shrimp fell off.. should I try again today? Or at least have my wife try when its perky like in the pics?

Ok and with that said.. The foot is still on top of the sand, will it start to bury its foot in open sand or do you think it will move to where a rock meets the sand and settle in there.

The carpet is fully capable of moving where it wants to. I've seen them dig and move rock piles to get to where they want to go. I would just let it do it's thing and not stress it out by moving it.

Sounds good.. its active, tenticles moving.. all tenticles extended.. will keep everyone uodated over the weekend of any changes.

I know! Thanks, we are hoping its gonna be ok.. some shrimp landed on the outer most edge again (kind of intentional) but it took it a second then closed up real fast and has since moved about 6 inches. Seen in pic.

In the second pic you can really tell how far it has moved over the last 24 hrs.

Another coral I'm nursing back.

Over the last week I have been nursing this back to life, before only one flower as I call them came out. Now there are 6 that come out to feed. That took 4 days to get to that point...

Now back to the topic at hand lol.

Is it attached to something now? I usually put my Nems on slotted basket for something to hold on and it enables them to "stand", ready to receive light rays. They like to burrow on the sand and attach to something under the sand, but it might have no extra energy to do so during acclimation, that's why I prefer to put them on the slotted small plastic basket. Easy to move around and I can put it higher towards the light.

It is NOT attached to anything. Still moving around that one area. What kind of basket? Can you snap a pic of it?

That is an excellent idea.. One thing, I don't wanna stress it out right now, how long should I wait to even think of moving it or doing the basket tecnique?

Well if it is not attached to anything, scoop it up with a basket similar to what I have asap. Wash the basket with warm water, no soap. I scoop it carefully and surely it attaches to it right away. If scooping not possible, wear non allergenic surgical gloves or plastic ladle to introduce the animal to basket.

What do you do when it attaches to the basket? And how do you get it out when you place it?
