I just went to my LFS and picked up a pair of Snowflake Clownfish!! These are my first ever saltwater fish.

I got them for $40 each and I also got a Turbo Snail.

I’ll get better pictures once they are in the tank and have acclimated. :)

——

I’m going to use frozen mysis shrimp (also picked up a sheet of that today) and New Life Spectrum Marine pellets to feed them, in case anyone was interested.

——

In case any of your were wondering (from following my other threads) I did take some samples of my water to my LFS for them to test it on their kits, and everything came back normal. The only difference was the nitrates were a bit lower than I gathered.

Nice. Let us know how it all goes in your build thread. :)

Very beautiful fish by the way.

Congratulations! Naming for a pair of Clowns is easy: Frick and Frack. Null and Void. Jeckyl and Hyde. Dexter and Debra. :)
AC/DC, Ricky and Lucy, Salt and Pepper, Fred and Ethel, Laurel and Hardy .... ok I may be showing my age now.

Acclimate them well and hope all goes well. Nice color

They are now in the tank!!

Not sure why they are only hanging in that corner... maybe the powerhead is to powerful?

Turbo Snail is destroying that algae :D

Definitely man. I acclimated for 1 hour and used the drip technique. I also made sure that the temperature of the water they were in, perfectly matched the tank water temperature.

They look good! Totally normal for them to hang out in the corner or around a powerhead, they kind of just pick a place to hangout (will probably stay there until you get a nem or something for them to host, and even then they may still choose to ‘host’ the powerhead). I would maybe go slow with the feeding for a few days since you’ve only been ghost feeding 4 pellets a day, maybe up it by one pellet every couple days (or the equivalent size chunk of mysis shrimp). That said it’s important that you get them eating, so if you notice they like the mysis more than the pellets, go with that for the first week or so, as you want them to be eating to lessen the chance of disease (nutrition is imperative to a healthy immune system). Once they’ve been eating for a week, then you can start kind of forcing them to eat a wider variety.
Anyway, congrats on your first fish!

How G34 and P30L?!? (Aka, the guns John Wick used in Chapter 1 and 2. :p );Hilarious;Hilarious
As I have no clue what that means, I will say - great names! (and confirm that I am indeed - old)
Congrats! They are adorable.

Congrats on your first fish! my first fish were also a pair of clowns. I've almost had them a year, and they've been in a 5, 14, and 29 gallon tank, but they always prefered the corners. I even bought them some anemones, but they didn't care. that's just how clowns are.

Congrats on the new fishies. They are very pretty. Clowns are really weird. Hopefully you get a coral or anemone they actually like. It is really fun to watch their behaviors. As they get a bit older, do not panic when one starts beating the other up and taking most of the tank for itself. That species should just fight with no injuries until the bigger, meaner one dominates and becomes the female. Then all will be fine. For her, the male with still be bullied around. :)

Also, are you sure those are snowflakes and not DaVincis? Either way beauts.
