New diamond spot goby question

It's been 2 days now and I haven't seen him. No sand moved around while I have been gone. Spot fed behind the rock where I last saw him digging. I'm testing for ammonia now just in case. What should I do next? I'm off work tomorrow and am considering moving some rock and looking for him. @eatbreakfast your expert advice would be appreciated

Well, my wife persuaded me to look on the floor under the stand. I couldn't believe he was there. I have a mesh top lid that has less than 1/4" gap except for the small corner cut out for power head cable. I can't believe he fit thru there. This is the first time I ever lost a fish like that and I feel terrible.

Dang that sucks I have had the same thing happen with a lawnmower blenny. And strawberry dottyback I had for over a year decided to jump out not once but twice in 2 days. The second time he wasn't so lucky and he was the only fish in the tank. I never did figure out how they jumped out. That tank has been empty now since then...need to get something in it other than gsp and leather corals....

I've had many diamond gobies and only a few have been satisfied with their homes. However, I do know that aggressive fish will chase and cause at least some of the jumps out of the tank.

Thanks all. Got another one on order from my fish and coral guy. He treats and quarantines for 21 days which is great because I don't have room for a qt tank
