Since I’ve got the go signal from the boss to upgrade my 120 to 210, I pick up the last fish (hopefully) to join the current residents when we move them in a month. This beauty costs me big time, $350 + tax. The gem is about 4”. Currently housed in the qt tank, will start a prophylactic treatment to make sure the tang is clean since it will join the rest of the gang once we move to bigger tank. Currently I have powder blue, purple, yellow and tomini in my 120 gal.
There it is:

This is the gang it will be joining in a month or so:

Beautiful. Congrats on the upgrade.

I once saw a Gem Tang for 300 at a LFS and was so tempted... but I have a 60G cube.
It took me a while before I finally decided to jump into the wagon, if I am not upgrading, I will not gamble.

it’s been in the LFS for almost two weeks and is eating well, so hopefully it will continue to be as is.

Beautiful fish. I will be curious to see hear how it goes when you introduce him into your existing tang gang. Are you going to use an acclimation box when you put him in the tank with the other tangs?
I will be upgrading my tank, so they will be introduced to the new tank at the same time.

Great occupant. Have mine over a year and complete model citizen and great eater

Beautiful tang.
I'd like either a gem or a black tang to complement my two.
I love tangs.
Good luck with the introduction!!!

go gem.. black is rare, but nothing too exciting after that. .. a good looking deja sailfin is the way to go!!!

I suggest moving the purple to a holding tank with the gem separated by egg crate then intro them to the new tank together. The more time you can get them to know each other while you can control it the better. Once they are both in the dt it's the Coliseum
