Why not a pair?

I already have two zebrasomas, besides I am already broke due to tank upgrade.

300!? My lfs wants 1200 bucks for a gen tang guess that is in canadian dollars but still!

I consider it reasonable, most LFS in my area sell it for $700.

I suggest moving the purple to a holding tank with the gem separated by egg crate then intro them to the new tank together. The more time you can get them to know each other while you can control it the better. Once they are both in the dt it's the Coliseum

I am upgrading my tank so all tangs will be put in the new tank at the same time.

Gem tangs are so sexy. If my gf agreed to one, we would probably be married already.

Marry her then right after the honeymoon threat her with divorce if she don't allow you to get a gem tang or better yet use the "gem" tang as your engagement gift.

Ahhh I see. Have you kept any Genicanthus before? If so how did they do for you?

So far the gem eats anything I dropped in its tank, so I'm pretty sure it will grow fast due to being a "pig".

Yea, I'm saying do an extra step of putting them together BEFORE the new tank. Once they are in there they are hard to get out. All going in at once is a good start... But not a guarantee.
