Hello everyone,
I'm new to the hobby and new to this forum. I've always wanted a saltwater tank and I'm already in love with everything in it. I live in Florida and hurricane season is among us. So my first question of many to come is, how long can I go without power before it hurts my tank buddies?
I do have a generator for "hurricane outages" but what about storms when power can be out for just a few hours?

Welcome to R2R! Depended on your stock, it wont taken long for things to start dying off with no circulation and oxygenation. It's hard to give an exact time as all tanks and setups are different.

Take the build process slow! We’re glad you’re here!

Welcome fellow Floridian to R2R and your new reefing family and welcome to the hobby. As mentioned, power outage time frame will be dependent upon several things, but regardless of those things, it's not very long.

So I will just simply say it...You're in Florida now and you have an aquarium with more money invested than you originally planned. Your next step is owning a generator!
